Factories in nine northern provinces want to recruit more than 21,600 electronics workers, accounting for 54% of the total recruitment target in the online trading session on July 25.
The job connection session of 9 provinces of Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Hai Phong and Bac Kan has a total recruitment target of more than 40,100 people.
Bac Giang leads the number of workers needed to recruit, about 17,500 people, mainly electronics workers. At the end of the session, factories interviewed 308 people. "The recruitment demand of electronics enterprises from now until the end of the year is quite large while the labor source is scarce," informed Mr. Nguyen Van Hue, Director of Bac Giang Employment Service Center.
In the first six months of the year, the locality cut about 26,500 workers in the textile, manufacturing, and assembly of electronic components. However, recruitment demand is still increasing, needing about 70,000 people from now until the end of the year.

Explaining this "reverse wave", Mr. Hue said that many electronics businesses have expanded production and established new ones. Since the beginning of July, orders have returned to many factories that are Apple vendors (goods and services suppliers), mainly producing headphones, chargers, and processing tablets...
Statistics show that the businesses that need to recruit the most workers are Foxconn 24,500; Luxshare-ICT 24,000; New Wing Interconnect Technology 13,000; Lens Vietnam 3,000; CE Link about 1,000...
The labor force mainly comes from the northern mountainous provinces such as Ha Giang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai; some have moved from the south after the wave of layoffs and some have moved from textile and garment workers.
"The initial career change encountered many difficulties because textile workers were mostly old and used to simple operations, while electronics required young people who could quickly absorb more complex operations," said Mr. Hue.

In general, unskilled workers are still the group that businesses need to recruit the most, accounting for 45.6% of the total quota; intermediate workers, technical workers over 27% and bachelor's degree or higher nearly 27%. Corresponding to the level, about 66% of recruited workers receive a salary of 5-10 million VND; 24% receive a salary of 10-15 million and the agreed income is less than 10%.
Hanoi alone recorded more than 1,200 recruitments, mainly in need of workers in the fields of trade, services, transportation and education with incomes of 5-15 million VND.
Of which, income of over 10 million VND is for experienced people, good expertise, and the ability to withstand high work pressure such as managers, supervisors, and deputy department heads. The lower level of about 7 million VND is for most office workers, receptionists, and accountants; the level of 5 million VND is for unskilled workers and new graduates. The negotiated salary has only 64 targets (accounting for 0.15%) for senior staff or those with good professional skills.
