Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant: Striving to reach more than 6 billion kWh in the first 6 months of this year

BTO - Mr. Vu Thanh Hai, Director of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, said that Vinh Tan 4 & 4 Expansion Thermal Power Plant focuses on striving to produce 6.059 billion kWh of electricity in the first 6 months of this year out of the total electricity output of the plant assigned by Vietnam Electricity Group of 11.432 billion kWh for the whole year of 2025. At the same time, the plant's accumulated electricity output from its operation in 2020 to the end of June this year reached more than 42.414 billion kWh, reaching nearly 97% of the total plan assigned by the Group.

Although there are still many difficulties and challenges, input costs for electricity production such as coal, oil, etc. are at high prices, the factory's employees are determined to overcome all difficulties and unfavorable developments, focusing on implementing the highest economic and technical targets assigned by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN). Specifically, the factory is promoting the completion of the renovation of Unit 2, the construction items in the repair and renovation plan of Unit 1 to ensure quality and progress; optimizing costs in bidding, purchasing materials and equipment, and managing the use of materials; reaching the heat loss rate for the whole year approaching the target assigned by EVN of 9,604.17 kJ/kWh. The incident rate is less than 1; the response factor is nearly 96%, ready to respond according to the mobilization method of the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited (NSMO); ensuring the rate of self-consumption of electricity of the factory is less than 6.64%.

Ensuring safe power production operations at Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant

Previously, in the first two months of this year, the plant was only mobilized at low load, reducing the load to 240 - 300 MW capacity to prioritize mobilizing renewable energy sources during noon hours; production output was more than 1,007.4 million kWh compared to the whole year plan.
