On the evening of December 17, according to Dan Tri reporters, a fire was discovered at an apartment on the 25th floor, block OC3, in the Muong Thanh Vien Trieu complex, Nha Trang city.

Ms. Tam, a resident of the apartment building, said the fire broke out at around 6 p.m. the same day. At that time, the building's fire alarm rang, and residents shouted and ran together to escape through the stairs.
The stairs of the 40-story apartment building are long, so some residents were exhausted when they reached the ground floor. Authorities provided first aid.
Upon receiving the news, about 50 firefighters and 5 fire trucks rushed to the scene. Because the fire broke out in an apartment more than 70 meters above ground, it was impossible to reach it with a ladder truck.

Dozens of soldiers used specialized equipment such as smoke extractors and oxygen masks to access the stairs.
By around 8pm the same day, the fire was basically under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Muong Thanh Vien Trieu complex consists of 4 apartment buildings and 1 hotel. The building where the fire broke out has 40 floors, with about 500 residents and tourists renting it.
