Modern production

Pineapple cultivation in association with Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company (Doveco) is opening up a direction for large-scale agricultural production in Son Duong. From small-scale, fragmented farming, many households in Tu Thinh, Tan Phu, Tan Tien villages, Son Duong commune have boldly converted hilly land to pineapple cultivation according to a unified technical process, associated with product consumption.

The average yield is 45 - 60 tons/ha, much higher than previous crops. With a stable purchase price due to the company signing a contract to purchase all products, each hectare of pineapple brings in an income of 120 - 150 million VND/year. This model helps farmers access safe production processes, limiting the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

More than 100 hectares of tangerines and lemons in Cau Bi village, Tan Thinh, Phuc Ung, Son Duong commune have applied biological farming processes, using organic microbial fertilizers, and limiting chemical pesticides. Thanks to the automatic irrigation system and soil moisture monitoring by sensors, water is saved by 30-40%, while productivity increases by 15-20%, bringing in billions of dong in revenue each year for households.

Comrade Ho Manh Tien, Head of the Economic Department of Son Duong Commune, said that up to now, the whole commune has more than 10 high-tech agricultural models, focusing on greenhouse vegetable cultivation, organic fruit trees, circular aquaculture and biosafety livestock farming. Many products have been labeled with traceability labels and connected to consumption through e-commerce platforms such as Postmart and Voso. In 2025, the total estimated value of agricultural products consumed through the commune's digital platform is estimated to reach more than 10 billion VND.
Increase the value of agricultural products

In the tea growing areas of Doan Ket, Tan Tien, Dong Dai, Tan Hong, farmers have strongly shifted to organic tea production combined with automatic irrigation systems. The clean cultivation process helps the tea buds to be green and rich in aroma, and is contracted by businesses to buy at a price 20-30% higher than traditional tea; many households have increased their income to 120-150 million VND/ha/year.

Along with production development, Son Duong increases support for cooperatives in technology transfer, human resource training and credit access, and is supported with preferential loans according to Decree No. 156/2025, dated June 16, 2025, amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 55/2015/ND-CP dated June 9, 2015 of the Government on credit policy to encourage the development of organic and circular agriculture.

The chicken farm owned by Mr. Pham Van Hoi and Ms. Hoang Thi Hue uses biological products to treat waste, limit odors, and reduce environmental pollution. The family's hill chicken products are highly appreciated by consumers, have stable consumption, and bring in an income of 200 - 300 million VND/year for the farm of 7,000 chickens.

To replicate the high-tech model, Son Duong commune focuses on planning production areas for each key crop and livestock, and at the same time issues a mechanism to encourage businesses to invest in agriculture. Up to now, Son Duong has attracted more than 10 businesses and cooperatives to participate in the production chain, creating more jobs and increasing income for people. By 2030, strive to bring the proportion of agricultural area applying high technology to 25-30% of the total cultivated area; build more pilot models of ecological agriculture; expand the greenhouse system and processing and preservation lines to increase product value.
