According to Yonhap News Agency, after nearly eight years of stagnation, Japan and South Korea agreed to hold a high-level economic dialogue in Seoul at the end of December.
The resumption of bilateral consultations between Tokyo and Seoul is the latest in a series of moves to improve relations between the two countries following disputes over wartime forced labor.
Earlier, Japan and South Korea signed a 3-year, $10 billion currency swap agreement to allow the two countries to access each other's money in times of emergency. The currency swap agreement is considered a tool to help countries deal with the risk of financial instability in a liquidity crisis.
