According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, within the framework of the official visit to the State of Kuwait, on the morning of November 17 local time, right after the official welcoming ceremony solemnly held at Bayan Palace, the capital of Kuwait, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The meeting took place in a respectful, friendly and trusting atmosphere, demonstrating the affection and determination of the two countries' leaders in continuing to develop the Vietnam-Kuwait relationship more deeply, substantially and effectively in the new period.
His Majesty the King Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah warmly welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to Kuwait; emphasizing that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit marks a new turning point in Vietnam-Kuwait relations and affirms that Vietnam holds a strategic position in Kuwait's foreign policy.
The King of Kuwait congratulated Vietnam on the occasion of the important anniversaries of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2, and highly appreciated Vietnam's outstanding achievements in socio-economic development.
Appreciating the profound developments in the relationship between the two countries over the past 49 years and wishing that both sides will have practical activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the King emphasized his sharing and heartfelt impressions of the beautiful country of Vietnam, with its rich four seasons, kind people, and attractive landscapes; wishing to cooperate and accompany Vietnam; considering Vietnam's interests as Kuwait's interests.
Expressing his belief that Vietnam is always a sincere, trustworthy and strongly developing friend, the King expressed his concern for the country and people of Vietnam as he does for the country and people of Kuwait and will never forget the support of the Vietnamese people for Kuwait.

On this occasion, the King expressed his deep sympathy and understanding for the damage and loss that the Vietnamese people had to suffer due to recent natural disasters and floods.
The King hopes that the two sides will expand cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, food security, science and technology, as well as coordinate stances on international issues.
The King affirmed that in its role as Chair of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Kuwait is very interested in enhancing cooperation between the GCC and Vietnam and ASEAN, considering Vietnam a strategic gateway to expand cooperation with ASEAN.
Expressing his pleasure at the official visit to the State of Kuwait, the first Gulf country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, the Prime Minister thanked the King for his affection and direct guidance in promoting bilateral relations to achieve many important achievements as well as for organizing this visit.
Expressing gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception that the King, Royal Family and people of Kuwait gave to the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, the Prime Minister recalled the milestones of cooperation in the relationship between the two countries in recent times, namely coordination and support at multilateral forums, Kuwait being the country in the Gulf region providing the largest ODA support to Vietnam, the Nghi Son oil refinery project, and Kuwait's timely support of 600,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine during Vietnam's most difficult time.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and senior leaders of Vietnam to His Majesty the King Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Royal Family.

Affirming the two countries' determination to deepen their friendly relations and open a new period of dynamic, comprehensive and effective cooperation towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Kuwait diplomatic relations (1976-2026), Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed to orient the two countries' relations to a strategic level, meeting the aspirations and interests of the two peoples.
Proposing that the King of Kuwait continue to pay attention to promoting the development of bilateral relations commensurate with the scale and new requirements, focusing on promoting and creating breakthroughs, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed 9 key areas of cooperation in the coming time.
In particular, strengthening political trust between the two countries, actively exchanging high-level delegations; promoting the pillar of energy cooperation, expanding oil and gas cooperation; creating breakthroughs in investment relations; hoping that the King will direct the Kuwait Investment Authority to increase investment in Vietnam, especially the International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City; strongly promoting trade; requesting the King to support early negotiations and signing of the Vietnam-GCC FTA; early negotiations of the Agreement on ensuring food security and projects to support the development of the Halal ecosystem in Vietnam; promoting cooperation in defense and security, cooperation in developing dual-use defense equipment, including UAV equipment, participating in each other's defense exhibitions, cooperation in handling non-traditional security challenges, strengthening cooperation in cyber security; promoting cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation in all fields; Strengthen tourism cooperation, promote people-to-people exchange, labor cooperation, culture, sports, education and training.
The Prime Minister also affirmed that with its potential and strengths, Vietnam is ready to join Kuwait in contributing to common efforts to promote peace and reconstruction in the Middle East region.
The two leaders supported strengthening political trust and enhancing coordination and consultation on regional and international issues for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the invitation of General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong to His Majesty the King Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to visit Vietnam. The King happily accepted the invitation and wished to visit Vietnam soon./.
