Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser at his home, a great friend who has made many contributions to the sustainable development of Vietnam-Kuwait relations over the past decades.

According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, within the framework of the official visit to the State of Kuwait, on the evening of November 17, in the capital of Kuwait, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the private residence of former Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who has fostered and contributed to the strong development of Vietnam-Kuwait relations over the past decades.

In a sincere and respectful atmosphere, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure to meet again with former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a great friend of Vietnam, and appreciated the good feelings and sincere support that the former Prime Minister had given to Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emotionally recalled the historic visit of former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser to Vietnam in May 2007, which created an important change for the current Vietnam-Kuwait relationship, including the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex project.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always remembers the pioneering role and dedication of former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser in making the two countries become each other's leading economic, investment and development partners in the region.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh informed former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser about Vietnam's outstanding development achievements in recent times.

The Prime Minister affirmed that with its new capacity and position, Vietnam is ready to be a reliable and sustainable partner in Kuwait's economic diversification strategy, especially in the fields of energy, industry, supply chain, investment and finance.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his belief that the newly established Strategic Partnership will continue to develop, inherit and promote the valuable legacies that former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser laid the foundation for.

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah expressed his pleasure in welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, a “great friend” and “brother” of the country and people of Kuwait, and expressed his admiration for Vietnam, “the land of great things,” notably President Ho Chi Minh, who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of national liberation.

Congratulating Vietnam on its important achievements in recent times, the former Prime Minister said that with the foundation of determination and not being afraid of hardship, the Vietnamese people have overcome all difficulties and challenges in the 20th century and created "miracles" in the 21st century, becoming a country with a role and influence in both politics and economy in Asia.

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah affirmed that the Kuwaiti people will always remember Vietnam's balanced stance and standing on the side of justice during Kuwait's difficult times.

The former Prime Minister also said that Kuwaiti leaders have proposed very long-term and specific strategies to implement cooperation with Vietnam, especially in ensuring food security.

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser affirmed that he will always continue to accompany and promote Vietnam-Kuwait relations in any position, for the interests of the two peoples and for peace, cooperation and development of the region./.
