Promoting the spirit of volunteerism of young people, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has coordinated with agencies and units to implement many projects and tasks for community life, contributing to ensuring social security and creating opportunities for union members to practice and mature.
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Youth Union has nearly 100 members, operating in 5 affiliated branches. Ms. Pham Thi Van Anh, Secretary of the Department's Youth Union, said: Every year, the Youth Union has done a good job of propaganda andeducation to raise awareness and responsibility to society and the community for young union members. At the same time, it has implemented many projects and volunteer youth work associated with the professional tasks of the unit; coordinated with organizations, businesses and individuals to mobilize social participation in volunteer activities to diversify and effectively organize youth movements.
With the motto "Youth of the Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs sector - solidarity, pioneering, creative, responsible", from 2023 to present, the Youth Union has carried out over 10 programs and activities, such as: Summer volunteer campaign 2023, in Phieng Khoai commune, Yen Chau district; "Winter volunteer" campaign 2023, in Hong Ngai commune, Bac Yen district; "Green banh chung - Happy traditional Tet" program at the Provincial Social Protection Center; giving banh chung to patients at the Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Mentally Ill Patients and hundreds of gifts to students, families with meritorious services, and people with revolutionary contributions; building gratitude houses, giving youth gardens, "Village Light" project, and sanitation facilities for households; providing free medical examination and medicine, disseminating information about jobs and labor market for people, with a total value of activities of over 500 million VND.
In addition, the Youth Union also organized campaigns to participate in "Voluntary Blood Donation", "Voluntary Saturday", "Green Sunday", environmental sanitation, landscape renovation, campus, and unit headquarters; organized gratitude activities, and gave gifts to families of wounded and sick soldiers on War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27.
During Youth Month 2024, the Department's Youth Union coordinated with the Youth Union of Emulation Cluster No. 2 to organize a volunteer program in Chieng Ngam commune, Thuan Chau district. The Union presented 100 ban trees and 50 gifts to young union members, students and families in difficult circumstances; installed youth project signs; promoted digital transformation in non-cash social security payments and cleaned the headquarters of the People's Committee of Chieng Ngam commune.
The "Creative Youth" movement has been effectively implemented by the Department's Youth Union. From 2023 to present, the Youth Union members of the branches have registered 50 ideas to serve the professional work of the unit and 30 grassroots technical innovation initiatives have been applied to professional work effectively, contributing to building the image of young, dynamic, creative, professional, open-minded and responsible cadres and civil servants.
Through the movements, many active members have been introduced to the Party organization for consideration, training and admission. From 2023 to present, the Department's Youth Union has introduced 27 outstanding members to the Party Committee, of which 5 outstanding members have been admitted to the Party.
Focusing on promoting volunteer activities for community life, the Youth Union of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs continues to direct its affiliated youth unions to increase resource mobilization for social security work; improve the quality of the programs "Voluntary Blood Donation", "Voluntary Saturday", "Repaying gratitude - Remembering the source of water", medical examination and treatment, and free medicine distribution; organize volunteer activities to participate in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, contributing to the good implementation of the political and professional tasks of the unit.
