Many positive results on legal aid in Hanoi

In the first 9 months of 2025, the Hanoi State Legal Aid Center received 118 people requesting consultation at the center's headquarters and branches with 118 cases in the following fields: 22 criminal cases, 42 civil cases; 14 cases related to marriage and family; 27 cases related to land; 5 complaints, denunciations, and administrative cases; 3 cases on preferential policies and 5 other fields.

The Hanoi State Legal Aid Center organized propaganda about legal aid law and the law through a mock trial at a school.

The Center has organized 54 communication sessions on legal aid and legal advice in communes, wards, schools and socio- political organizations in Hanoi, attracting 5,076 participants, directly consulting 713 people on 713 matters in the following fields: 52 criminal matters; 253 civil matters; 74 marriage and family matters; 186 land and housing matters; 4 labor and employment matters; 34 complaints, denunciations, and administration; 52 preferential policy matters and 58 other matters.

The State Legal Aid Center has sent legal aid officers to participate in litigation to defend or protect the legal rights and interests of 1,781 people in 1,781 cases, of which 1,734 were criminal cases; 32 were civil cases; and 15 were administrative cases.

Of the 1,781 people who received legal aid, 17 were people with revolutionary contributions; 397 were children; 1,078 were accused between the ages of 16 and under 18; 2 were victims between the ages of 16 and under 18 in criminal cases with financial difficulties; 21 were from poor households; 15 were accused from near-poor households; 211 were ethnic minorities residing in areas with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions; 4 were elderly people with financial difficulties and 36 were disabled people with financial difficulties. The Center also handled 4 cases of out-of-court representation.

In addition, the Center has organized 15 training conferences to improve knowledge and professional skills in legal aid for officers and employees, and organized training courses to foster legal reporters for the Center's officers.
