Many female doctors and nurses donate hair to cancer patients

After each radiation treatment, female patients' hair gradually falls out, causing them to feel self-conscious, leading to depression and anxiety, which greatly affects their care and treatment. Therefore, Hue Central Hospital organized the program "Donate Hair - Spread Love" to help female patients.

On the afternoon of October 18, Dr. Hoang Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital, said that after one day of launching, more than 100 female medical staff and doctors working at the hospital volunteered to donate hair to cancer patients.

With the motto of "bringing love to patients", Hue Central Hospital organized the program "Donate hair - Spread love" to celebrate the 94th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2024).

The program aims to contribute to the hair fund to have more hair to give to female cancer patients being treated at the Hospital. Thereby helping female patients have more faith, determination and optimism to overcome the disease, soon return to their loved ones and family.

BSCKII. Hoang Thi Lan Huong shared that over the years, the Hospital's Oncology Center has become a second home for hundreds of patients coming for treatment. Having cancer has affected their health and spirit, especially for female patients. After each radiation treatment, female patients' hair gradually falls out, causing them to feel self-conscious and inferior, leading to depression and anxiety, which greatly affects the care and treatment of the disease. Therefore, the Association of Women Intellectuals and the Trade Union of Hue Central Hospital and other units have organized a hair donation program to help female patients.

Female cancer patients were grateful when receiving wigs donated by Hue Central Hospital.

By the afternoon of October 18, more than 100 female medical staff and doctors working at Hue Central Hospital, along with many female staff and employees of units in Hue City and students from several schools in the area, had volunteered to donate hair to cancer patients. The donated hair will be collected by hair stylists, processed, and designed into suitable hairstyles to give to female patients being treated at Hue Central Hospital.

In addition to the wigs, the patients also received meaningful gifts from the hospital and sponsors.
