Tomorrow, the North and North Central regions will again experience widespread heavy rain.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from May 28 to May 29, the North and North Central regions will likely have another widespread heavy rain.

On the afternoon of May 27, Mr. Vu Tuan Anh, forecaster, Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, commented on the new heavy rain in the North and North Central regions starting tomorrow, May 28.

Specifically, in the coming days, the Northern region will enter a new period of rain, the rain is likely to start from the afternoon and evening of tomorrow, May 28, until the end of May 29.

The cause of the rain is the impact of weak cold air combined with the wind convergence zone above 1,500m, so according to our assessment, in the Northern region, starting from tomorrow evening and night until May 29, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, to very heavy rain over a wide area, with common rainfall from 30 - 90mm, locally there may be over 180mm.

In recent days, heavy rain has caused flooding in many districts of Ha Tinh province.

According to experts from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, heavy rain will occur in the North Central region around the morning of May 29, with rainfall ranging from 30 to 70mm, with some places exceeding 150mm. Note that the time of heavy rain in the North Central region is around the morning of May 29 until the end of the night of May 29.

In addition to the Northern region, meteorological experts also warned that the situation causing rain in the Southern region is increasing, due to the strong southwest monsoon combined with a low pressure trough with an axis passing through the South Central region, so from the evening of May 28 to May 29, the Central Highlands, the South, and even the South Central region will have moderate rain, heavy rain to very heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Mr. Vu Tuan Anh also noted that because the Northern and North Central regions have just experienced a prolonged period of extreme rain, with many places experiencing heavy rain in a short period of time, in the coming period of rain, mountainous areas need to be extremely vigilant for the risk of landslides and flash floods; and plain areas need to be aware of the possibility of flooding.
