Awarding the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Award for Bac Ninh Province

On the morning of May 27, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Department of Education and Training (GD&DT) to organize the summary and award ceremony of the Bac Ninh Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025.

The 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest is organized for primary, secondary and high school students in Bac Ninh province. Individuals participating in the Contest will answer 2 questions or create a video clip in the Exam. Students in grades 1 and 2 will only receive their exam in the form of a video clip. The exam will be presented in Vietnamese; it can be typed or handwritten, not exceeding 5,000 words (handwriting is encouraged for primary school students). Create a video clip lasting from 5 minutes to 10 minutes (the review must be no less than 3 minutes); effects and techniques can be used, and the image and sound quality must be guaranteed and suitable for posting on YouTube.

Entries must have healthy, pure content, in accordance with Vietnamese customs and culture; ensure accuracy, information security and other relevant legal regulations. Books shared in the entry must be legally published in Vietnam (contestants are encouraged to share recently published books that are topical, have topics close to life, express the aspiration to build a prosperous, happy, and prosperous country), note to specifically introduce and fully provide information about the book's publishing origin.

After 2 months of launching (from March to May 2025), the Organizing Committee of the Contest received 81,229 entries (including 80,674 written entries; 555 video clips) from students of 241 schools across the province, with the number of video clip entries increasing by 91% compared to 2024.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, in 2025, although the number of participating schools decreased by 14% compared to 2024 (due to the merger of some primary and secondary schools), the quality of the entries was invested in, the number of entries passing the preliminary round and being considered for awards increased by 25% compared to 2024. Many entries were of good quality, carefully invested in both form and content, demonstrating the excellence in ideas, creativity, and great imagination of the contestants in sharing touching stories, impressive inspirational characters, and continuing stories with profound humane messages.

Many video clips show outstanding creativity, rich staging methods in terms of script, presentation, scenery, costumes, application of information technology, and integration of scenes depicting the appearance and personality of the characters illustrated by the students themselves. Many specific plans, measures and initiatives to encourage reading were built by the students with practical feasibility and high persuasiveness to spread and develop reading culture in the community.

In particular, there are solutions to develop reading culture for children in remote areas and children with print disabilities proposed by the contestants with many activities that are very close, natural, and suitable for their age; the students also use them in combination with vivid, unique, and attractive presentation models such as: drawing illustrations, decorating unique motifs, neat handwriting, combining the use of Braille, which truly creates a profoundeducational meaning and a good impression for the contest.

After 5 years of implementation, the Bac Ninh Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest has been increasingly spread strongly and widely to schools in the area, contributing to building reading habits, raising awareness of reading culture as a premise for building a reading culture in schools and in the community. Not only stopping at building a reading culture, the contest also finds typical faces to fan the flames of passion, inspire and spread the love for books.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Contest awarded 4 First Prizes, 13 Second Prizes, 30 Third Prizes, 96 Encouragement Prizes, and 1 collective prize to Dinh Bang 2 Primary School with the largest number of participants. In particular, the title of Reading Culture Ambassador of Bac Ninh province was awarded to Nguyen Ngoc Thuy, class 4A, Tuong Giang Primary School, Tu Son city.

The contest aims to encourage sharing and spreading the love of reading in order to form reading habits and skills for the young generation, thereby arousing passion, promoting the reading movement, developing reading culture in the community, improving the ability to access information, knowledge, creativity, contributing to building the system of cultural values ​​and standards of Vietnamese people. On this occasion, many groups and individuals who actively participated in and sponsored the contest received Certificates of Merit from the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
