Awarding ceremony of the 5th Fine Arts Creation Camp on the topic of Public Security

On the afternoon of May 27, the Closing Ceremony and Awarding Ceremony of the 5th Fine Arts Creation Camp on the theme “CAND forgets itself for the country, serves the people” took place in Hanoi. This is a meaningful cultural activity of the People’s Public Security Force, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the People’s Public Security Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.

The 5th Art Creation Camp on the theme “CAND forget themselves for the country, serve the people” was organized by the Ministry of Public Security . The Camp was attended by 45 artists who are members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association. At the end of the Camp, the Organizing Committee received 93 works, including acrylic paintings (41 works), oil paintings (30 works), woodcuts (12 works), silk paintings (4 works), lacquer (2 works), and mixed media (4 works). The Jury met to select the awards and proposed to award A, B, C and Encouragement prizes to 40 quality works.

Major General, People's Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Creative Camp, awarded the A Prize to the authors.

Painter Luong Xuan Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, Chairman of the Jury, awarded the B Prize to the authors.

Major General Ta Quang Huy, Deputy Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Public Security, awarded the C Prize to the authors.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General, People's Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Creative Camp affirmed: The Central Public Security Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security always pay attention to leading and directing the organization of creative activities and promoting literary and artistic works on the topic of the People's Public Security through organizing creative competitions and campaigns. Thereby, the Organizing Committee has mobilized and encouraged many authors inside and outside the People's Public Security force to respond and participate, obtaining many paintings, theater, music , literary and artistic works on the topic of the People's Public Security with artistic value, content that deeply reflects the reality of work, combat, as well as the daily life of the People's Public Security officers and soldiers.

Colonel Tran Cao Kieu, Deputy Director of the Public Security Communications Department, Director of the Public Security Publishing House, awarded the Encouragement Prize to the authors.

Colonel Dang Thu Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Training, awarded the Encouragement Prize to the authors.

According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Political Affairs, the success of the 5th Fine Arts Creation Camp continues to affirm that the creation of literary and artistic works in general, and fine arts in particular on the topic of the People's Public Security, has attracted the attention and active participation of a large number of creative teams inside and outside the Public Security force. The winning works are works with unique artistic and creative qualities in terms of image, composition, lines, colors, easy to understand, easy to recognize, and impressive to the public; contributing to praising the glorious achievements and traditions of the People's Public Security force over 80 years of construction, fighting and growth. The works promote the image of the People's Public Security soldier "Bravery - Humanity - Serving the people".

Major General, People's Artist Nguyen Cong Bay acknowledged and praised the artists who responded to the Creative Camp and congratulated the authors who won the awards; at the same time, he sincerely thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Fine Arts Association for creating favorable conditions, coordinating and helping to create and promote literary and artistic works on the topic of Public Security.

Deputy Director Nguyen Cong Bay requested units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, and functional units under the Ministry of Public Security to regularly pay attention to organizing creative activities and promoting literary and artistic works in general and works on the topic of the People's Public Security in particular. Thereby contributing to promoting the beautiful image of the People's Public Security soldier in the hearts of the people. Regularly innovate the form of organization and creative forms to attract and gather a large number of artists to participate in order to have more works of good quality in terms of ideology and art on the topic of the People's Public Security.

The artists continue to express their good feelings for the People's Public Security Forces, deeply sharing the characteristics of their profession, the hardships, the examples of dedication in work, intelligence, and bravery in the fight to protect national security, ensure social order and safety, for the peaceful and happy life of the people; continue to create more profound works of art on the topic of the People's Public Security Forces, contributing to making the image of the People's Public Security Forces increasingly dear, close, and trusted and respected by the people.

The Department of Political Affairs will advise and propose to the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security to plan to organize the exhibition and promotion of the award-winning art works at the above-mentioned Creation Camp, not only to serve the propaganda to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Day, the 20th anniversary of the National Security Protection Day, but also to regularly propagate to the masses, so that the public can enjoy these meaningful works of art. At the same time, organize the evaluation and promotion of the achieved results, draw lessons, especially the shortcomings and limitations in the organization work so that the organization of the Creation Camp next time will be better and of higher quality.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the A Prize to 3 authors: Nguyen Hong Tuan with the oil painting “Comrades”; Nguyen Van Hoa with the woodcut “Helping people overcome storms”; Nguyen Minh Dung with the oil painting “Sunshine on the training ground”. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 7 B prizes, 10 C prizes and 20 Encouragement prizes.

Immediately after the ceremony, the Organizing Committee opened the 5th Fine Arts Creation Camp exhibition on the theme “CAND forget themselves for the country, serve the people”. The exhibition took place at the Exhibition Gallery, Vietnam University of Fine Arts, Hanoi from May 27 to June 2.
