On the afternoon of November 12, at the Ministry of Education and Training, a press conference was held to summarize the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" in 2025.
This year is the 8th time the Ministry of Education and Training has coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the award.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee - commented that the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" in 2025 continues to be a successful season, demonstrating the deep interest of the press in the field of education.
Although the press nationwide is in the process of streamlining and restructuring, the number of press agencies and journalists is decreasing, the number of entries this year remains high.
Accordingly, this year's award attracted more than 800 entries in four types of journalism: print, electronic, radio and television.
The works clearly reflect the lives of teachers and closely follow current issues in the education sector; issues of public concern such as Resolution 71, the Education Law, the Teachers Law, the issue of extra teaching and learning, the unified set of textbooks; current issues on policies and training quality associated with the two-level local government model...
In particular, many works honor the example of teachers and school groups who have been devoting themselves day and night to the cause of education and training from kindergarten to university.
Besides, the "dark" works in education tend to decrease compared to previous years, but there are still award-winning works.
As a result, the final jury proposed 4 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 12 third prizes, 36 consolation prizes and two outstanding characters in the two winning works. This year there were no special prizes.
The award ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. on November 14 at the Au Co Arts Center, Hanoi.
Answering the question "Why is there no special prize this year?", journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam - Editor-in-Chief of Education & Times newspaper - said that in many seasons, not just the 2025 season, the preliminary and final judging panels have worked with a spirit of objectivity, impartiality and responsibility.
Mr. Lam said: "Not having a special prize does not mean that the quality of this year's competition is low." According to the judges' assessment, this year's entries have many outstanding professional points, demonstrating the authors' dedication and meticulous investment.
However, after careful consideration, in the specific context of this year, the final jury decided not to award a special prize, demonstrating the jury's seriousness and highest respect for the work and author.
