From 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education plans to stop considering high school transcripts for admission, even though this method has had very high admission scores for many years.

Thus, the school's admission methods and quota ratios include: direct admission (10%); priority admission and admission of specialized class students (10-20%); consideration of specialized capacity assessment test scores 40-50%; consideration of high school graduation exam scores (20-40%).

In previous years, high school transcript scores were used by this school to independently consider admission to the school (10% of the target) or in combination with the ability assessment test scores (30-40% of the target).

According to Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the removal of the high school transcript admission requirement is aimed at meeting the needs of students studying under the new program from the general perspective of ensuring fairness, transparency, creating favorable conditions for candidates and ensuring improved input quality, meeting the requirements of the modern labor market.

Ho Chi Minh City National University also determined to reduce to 3 university admission methods, including: direct admission, admission based on the results of the capacity assessment exam organized by the school, admission based on high school exam results.

With this decision, schools under Ho Chi Minh City National University are moving towards eliminating the priority admission method based on student transcripts at more than 100 high schools nationwide (according to the annually updated list) to ensure fairness and help candidates avoid confusion.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade has decided to reduce the admission quota based on high school transcripts from 30% to 15% of the total quota. After that, according to the process, the school will completely eliminate this method.

Also in 2025, the school plans to recruit 5 new groups in 2025, including 4 groups of group C, including: C00 (Literature, History, Geography), C01 (Literature, Mathematics, Physics), C02 (Literature, Mathematics, Chemistry), C14 (Math, Literature, Economic and Legal Education), mainly in the Law, Business Administration, and Hotel groups.

This is the first time Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade has recruited group C, helping candidates to be more flexible in the registration process. At the same time, it helps the school select students with the capacity and background suitable for each major.

In addition, the school also added another combination of three subjects: Math, Information Technology and English. This is also the first time this combination has appeared, because the new generaleducation program has Information Technology as a subject. The school uses this combination to recruit students for the majors of Information Technology, Information Security and Data Science.

At the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), from 2025, the University of Economics and Law will no longer consider admission based on the combination of A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry) and D07 (Math, Chemistry, English). The school uses two traditional combinations of A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, English, Literature), and adds two new combinations including Math, English, Informatics and Math, English, Economic and Legal Education.

Regarding admission methods, the school plans to use three main methods by 2025, including: direct admission and priority direct admission (up to 20% of the target), considering capacity assessment test scores (up to 40-60%) and high school graduation exam scores (up to 30-50%).
