- The recent storm No. 11 caused many areas in Lang Son province to be submerged in water. When the water receded, mud covered everywhere, many roofs and schools that had been deeply flooded became devastated, bringing with them many worries. In the face of these difficulties, with the support of authorities at all levels and the community, people in the flood-affected areas are still trying every day to return to normal life.

According to reports from the authorities, due to the impact of the recent storm No. 11, about 5,906 households in the province were affected, of which 25 houses collapsed, 64 houses were damaged (50 - 70%), 51 houses were damaged (30 - 50%), 4,948 houses were flooded, over 264 houses were affected by landslides, 191 outbuildings were damaged and affected. Widespread flooding occurred in the communes of Yen Binh, Van Nham, Huu Lung, Tuan Son, Cai Kinh, That Khe, Trang Dinh, Quoc Viet...
Along with that, thousands of hectares of rice, crops; household equipment and livestock were swept away by the flood.
Although storms and floods can sweep away property, they cannot sweep away human will, faith and love. Together with the people, thousands of police officers, soldiers and militiamen have been present in all communes, helping to move belongings, clear water flows, rebuild roofs, prevent weak walls from collapsing, and spray disinfectants...
According to reporters' records in early November 2025 (after nearly 1 month of being affected by storm No. 11), in the communes with the deepest flooding such as Yen Binh, Huu Lung, That Khe... people's lives here have gradually returned to normal like many other places in the whole province.
Since early morning, vehicles have been running back and forth, people have been bustling on all the central streets; wholesale markets, traditional markets, chains of shops, and convenience stores have reopened to serve people's shopping needs.
Ms. Le Thi Binh, a resident of Huu Lung commune, said: During the recent flood caused by storm No. 11, my family suffered quite a lot of damage, from beds, wardrobes, blankets, mosquito nets, electronic devices such as TVs, refrigerators... were all broken. Immediately after the water receded, my family mobilized family members and relatives living nearby to come and clean up the house and buy essential items. Up to now, after nearly a month, my family's life has basically stabilized again, everything has gradually returned to the same orbit as before the natural disaster.
Or like the family of Mrs. Nong Thi Thi, That Khe commune shared: The flood caused by storm No. 11 recently caused my family to be submerged quite deeply, however, due to prior preparation, the family did not suffer much damage but life was still turned upside down. Immediately after the water receded, the family cleaned up the house and focused on renovating the fields to prepare for the new crop. Currently, the family's life has stabilized again...
Not only has people's lives returned to normal, but at schools heavily affected by storm No. 11 in the province, teaching and learning activities of teachers and students have also returned to normal as before the storm and flood.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, Principal of Yen Binh Kindergarten shared: The recent storm No. 11 caused very heavy damage to our school, most of the equipment used for teaching and caring for children was damaged and could not be restored. However, with the highest spirit and responsibility, along with the support of all levels, sectors and benefactors, the work of overcoming the consequences of the flood was effectively carried out by the school. Immediately after the water receded for a week, the school welcomed students back to class. Up to now, although the school's facilities are not as expected, the school's daily activities have basically returned to the way they were before...
At the same time, in localities heavily affected by floods, with the attention of the province, local authorities, and mass organizations, people's lives have gradually returned to normal.
Mr. Luong Van Binh, Vice Chairman of Yen Binh Commune People's Committee, said: To revive the lives and economy of the people in the past month, the whole commune has welcomed nearly 200 organizations, individuals, and volunteer groups to support the commune in stabilizing the lives and restoring the economy for the people. In particular, the support in kind is essential items, necessities... worth tens of billions of VND and nearly 1 billion VND in cash.
The commune government has also been allocated over 500 tons of rice from the national reserve and sponsors to distribute to people to ensure food security from now until the end of 2025. As of the end of October 2025, households in the area have organized to harvest over 100 hectares of rice and over 200 hectares of corn in 20/22 heavily flooded villages. In addition, the commune has mobilized people to clean up the fields with an area of nearly 400 hectares, the expected area to restore production of crops in the Autumn-Winter crop of 2025 - 2026 is about 1,500 hectares.
Mr. Luong Van Binh, Vice Chairman of Yen Binh Commune People's Committee, emotionally said: Up to now, basically, the people of Yen Binh commune have returned to normal life. The commune officials and people are very happy that in times of trouble, they always receive attention, encouragement, sharing, help and protection from leaders at all levels and sectors...
Although the natural disaster has passed for nearly a month, the affected localities still face many difficulties and the time to rebuild the damage and losses caused by the flood is still long, but with the will and determination of the people; the attention of local Party committees and authorities at all levels, armed forces, departments, branches, unions, and social organizations in directing and joining hands to overcome the consequences, protect and support people in the disaster area, life has gradually returned to the people after the fierce flood.
