On October 31, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission held a seminar "University Education - Building comprehensive autonomy and developing high-quality human resources in the spirit of Resolution 71-NQ/TW".
Professor Dr. Huynh Van Son, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, said that the seminar received 16 presentations from 14 higher education institutions, divided into 6 main topic groups according to the orientation of Resolution 71-NQ/TW.

Professor Huynh Van Son, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, spoke at the seminar on October 31.
Establish a business advisory council at school
At the seminar, speakers shared many experiences in designing programs according to international standards. In particular, the school cooperated with businesses to incorporate practical situations into lectures, helping students "learn while doing", improve practical skills and be ready to work immediately after graduation.
Many training programs of Vietnamese universities have met regional and international accreditation standards (typically AUN-QA, ABET, FIBAA...), thereby enhancing the school's position and creating trust in society.
In the topic group on strengthening the "3-house" connection (state-school-enterprise) in the new development era, an impressive presentation presented the model of business advisory council at the university.
Through this council, businesses directly participate in giving opinions on training programs, sending experts to guide practice, and accepting students for internships. As a result, students are equipped with more practical skills, many of whom are recruited by businesses immediately after graduation.
Proposal to "choose the right person to entrust your gold to"
Resolution 71-NQ/TW sets the target that by 2030 Vietnam will have at least one university among the top 100 universities in the world in a number of key areas. To achieve this ambitious goal, speakers said it is necessary to focus on targeted investment and create outstanding conditions for areas of strength at a number of key universities.

The seminar is divided into 6 main thematic groups, discussed and closely followed the direction of Resolution 71-NQ/TW.
Accordingly, the State needs to have a key program to support 3-5 most potential universities, helping them develop rapidly and improve their international rankings in the next decade. This is considered a strategic step to realize the aspiration of bringing Vietnamese universities to the world level.
According to experts, to approach the world's top 100, universities first need to build a team of experts and leading scientists of international stature. There needs to be strong policies to attract global talent: from sending graduate students and lecturers to study at the world's leading academic centers to inviting international professors and experts for long-term cooperation in Vietnam.
Along with developing top-notch human resources, experts emphasize the need to create a world-class research and innovation environment within the country.
