Tourists enjoy tea on the tourist train from Hanoi to Thai Nguyen.

In the opening program of Thai Nguyen Tourism Season 2025, we witnessed many tourists coming to the land of Tea in excitement. They were from different lands, departing from Hanoi station to Thai Nguyen on the beloved train.

Perhaps among Vietnamese poets of all ages, the person who is deeply inspired and impressed by ships and train journeys is certainly none other than Che Lan Vien. However, those are poetic journeys of inspiration, of a time of hardship and deprivation. And here are the train journeys of the time when the country entered the era of development. Thai Nguyen Tea Land is considered a friendly destination, a place that adds positive life energy to each person who comes to experience it.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Standing Member of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee, excitedly said: Since the beginning of the year, there have been 3 trains taking tourists from Hanoi to Thai Nguyen. As soon as the train started, many guests eagerly asked each other about the land and people of Thai Nguyen. Especially young people who had the first time to eat peanut candy with tea flavor and enjoy genuine Thai Nguyen tea.

Sharing with us, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Head of Quan Trieu Station, confided: It has been a long time since we have had the joy of a train. Moreover, these are trains that bring “strange guests” to the land of Thai Nguyen Tea. They will be the messengers bringing the beautiful images of Thai Nguyen land and people to many regions of the country.

Mr. Ngo Quang Tien, Head of Luu Xa Station, said as if confiding: For us, the railway "people", happiness is taking care of the tracks every day, setting the switches, hearing the whistle blow each time signaling the train entering the station safely, witnessing the joy on the faces of many people welcoming us.

Although it has just been put into operation, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Railways Corporation have successfully implemented the idea of creating a beautiful image for the tour on the railway from Hanoi to Thai Nguyen Tea Land. Service quality is emphasized, train cars are upgraded, decorated, creating an eye-catching space, with space for tea drinking, performing arts, introducing OCOP products, and Thai Nguyen souvenirs.

Along with that is ensuring the train runs on time; preferential ticket policies respond to major tourism events of Thai Nguyen Tea Land. The train stations are landscaped for visitors to check in; QR codes to look up tourism information and beautiful images of Thai Nguyen Tea Land tourism are placed on the train cars. In the digital age, visitors can buy train tickets directly or online and choose their own convenient seats when booking tickets.

Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam, Head of Tourism Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism), said: Most of Thai Nguyen's tourism products are associated with tea culture. I am very proud, "A teapot is the beginning of a story". After the railway tourism route is put into operation, visitors boarding the train will feel why Thai Nguyen Tea Land is a land worth visiting.

Sharing with us, Mr. Do Trong Hiep, Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association, said: Tourism businesses and establishments always accompany the province in related activities, especially the railway tourism route. For example, participating in spaces displaying Thai Nguyen tourism products at stations; transporting tourists from stations to areas and destinations; the system of motels, restaurants, tour guides, etc. are all ready.

The route from Gia Lam station goes through the stations: Yen Vien, Co Loa, Dong Anh, Da Phuc, Trung Gia (Hanoi) to Pho Yen, Luong Son and the final destination is Luu Xa station (Thai Nguyen). From here, visitors continue their journey of interesting experiences and discoveries about Thai Nguyen Tea Land.

The car was waiting, starting with the offering of incense at the National Historical Site of 60 martyrs of the 915th Youth Volunteer Company, 91st Team of Bac Thai; visiting the Museum of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures; Tan Cuong Tea Cultural Space; Thai Hai Ethnic Ecological Stilt House Village (Thai Nguyen City) - The village received the ASEAN Tourism Award in 2025 and was recognized as a 5-star OCOP tourism product.

In particular, on the journey to Thai Nguyen Tea Land, visitors will have the opportunity to stop at Ly Nam De Temple (Muc Temple) in Tien Phong Ward (Pho Yen City) - the birthplace and upbringing of the king who founded Van Xuan country, a golden page of the nation's history.

Continuing the journey, visitors will also return to the places associated with the 9-year long resistance war, the origin of the historic Dien Bien Phu Campaign "famous in five continents, shaking the world".

The journey to discover Thai Nguyen will be more complete when visitors enjoy the fragrant tea flavor - a famous specialty of this land. The cuisine here is also a colorful picture with unique delicacies: fresh river fish, fragrant hill chicken, cool wild banana salad, crispy grilled wild pig skin, eye-catching five-color sticky rice or hump cake imbued with tea aroma... Each dish is imbued with the soul of the countryside and the love of the land.

When the train from the land of Tea rolls back to Thang Long - Hanoi, in the hearts of tourists will surely linger unforgettable memories of a land rich in tradition with more than 1,000 historical - cultural relics, more than 550 intangible cultural heritages and charming natural landscapes.
