Thereby, creating conditions for artisans and people of ethnic minority areas to preserve and enjoy the traditional cultural values of their ethnic groups.

The Organizing Committee representative awarded the clubs.

Pride in national culture

The People's Committee of Ninh Hoa town has just organized the Traditional Arts Festival of Folk Cultural Activity Clubs in the Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Regions in 2024, with more than 100 members from 5 Folk Cultural Activity Clubs participating, including: Buon Dung Village Club, Suoi Mit Village Club, Buon Lac Village Club, Song Bung Village Club (Ninh Tay Commune), Suoi Sau Village Club (Ninh Tan Commune). Of which, there are 2 Ede Clubs, Buon Dung Village and Buon Lac Village, the rest are folk cultural activity clubs of the Raglai people. Through the festival, the Ede and Raglai people had the opportunity to express the traditional cultural beauty of their people, thereby increasing their love, pride, and awareness of preservation and promotion.

Coming to the festival, the members of the Buôn Dung Village Club presented the audience with the Chim Grứ dance performed on the background music of the ching kok orchestra; Buôn durKman folk songs; and a performance simulating the water wharf worship ceremony of the Ede people. The Suối Mít Village Club team brought the audience to a performance simulating the new rice worship ceremony and the wedding ceremony of the Raglai people. The Buôn Lạc Village Club performed lively performances about the new rice celebration and coming of age ceremony of the Ede people. The two clubs of Sông Bùng Village and Suối Sáu Village presented images of the new rice celebration, along with lullabies of the Raglai people... From the performances of the clubs, the audience was immersed in the bustling, vibrant atmosphere of the ching kok, gong, ding nam trumpet, and ma la... performances along with folk songs of the Ede and Raglai people, and beautiful dances performed by boys and girls. In particular, the performances simulating some rituals and activities in traditional festivals of the Ede and Raglai people helped people visualize the beauty of the festivals that are being preserved by the people in the villages.

Although it only took place for one session, the festival created a space for members of each club to perform, exchange, meet and introduce the traditional cultural and artistic beauty that their community is preserving. “Our club was established in August this year, with 20 members who are all villagers. Joining the club, we learned how to play gongs, ching kok, traditional dances and folk songs of the Ede people. Coming to the festival, we hope to bring the audience beautiful music, folk songs and dances,” said Ms. H'Hoa Nie (member of the Buon Dung village club). Ms. Cao Thi Nho (member of the Song Bung village club) shared that the new rice celebration is the most important festival of the Raglai people; the ma la is a sacred musical instrument of the Raglai people. Bringing the traditional cultural values of the villagers to the audience, each member of the club feels very proud and tries to perform their best.

The nucleus of the movement

According to musician Hinh Phuoc Lien - Head of the festival's jury, the first time Ninh Hoa town organized a traditional art festival for folk cultural clubs in the ethnic minority region is truly remarkable and worth promoting. Besides the elderly artisans, the clubs also have many enthusiastic and passionate young people. The happiest thing is that through the festival, we see that the traditional musical instruments of the Ede and Raglai people are all used skillfully; folk songs and traditional dances are all preserved and performed in a methodical manner with the pride of the performers. Simulating traditional festivals in the performances shows part of the space and atmosphere of those festivals and more or less brings emotions to the audience.

The establishment of Ede and Raglai folk cultural clubs is an activity to implement Project 6 on preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development (under the National Target Program on socio -economic development in the Central Highlands and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2025) in Ninh Hoa town. This also demonstrates the locality's interest in preserving the beauty of traditional culture, contributing to improving the spiritual life of people in the Central Highlands. In particular, these clubs will be the nucleus of the local cultural and artistic movement, thereby contributing to spreading and developing many other club models in the coming time.
