Bac Kan farmers produce and trade safe agricultural products and food

Proactive from clean production model

With the desire to exploit the local advantages of Shan Tuyet tea trees, in 2023, Ban Moc Agricultural Cooperative, Yen Han Commune (Cho Moi) was established. The Cooperative proactively invested in building a workshop to process products from Shan Tuyet tea trees, participated in scientific and technical training, approached organic production, practiced clean agriculture... to improve output and product quality to meet the increasing consumption needs of the market.

Ban Moc Agricultural Cooperative has mastered the technology to produce probiotics by itself, utilizing available agricultural by-products combined with probiotics to create organic fertilizers. The Cooperative has provided probiotics to members as biological bedding in livestock farming, composted agricultural waste into organic fertilizers to fertilize tea plants, minimizing the use of inorganic fertilizers. Up to now, the raw material area of Ban Moc Shan Tuyet tea has achieved and been granted VIETGAP certification; nearly 15 hectares of tea have been granted PGS organic certification. Currently, the Cooperative has Ban Moc Shan Tuyet tea and Ban Moc Shan Tuyet Red tea products that have achieved 3-star OCOP at the provincial level.

To maintain its reputation for more than 30 years in production and business in the food and beverage sector, La Thi Tam Production Facility, Group 1, Song Cau Ward ( Bac Kan City) always pays attention to the issue of food hygiene at input, processing and preservation. Currently, the Facility has 08 products that meet OCOP standards such as braised pork leg, khau nhuc, lap xuong, smoked pork, dried buffalo meat, dried chicken, Tam Cuong sausage, Tam Cuong instant smoked pork.

Every year, the registered facility must comply with food safety criteria; participate in training courses on safe production and trading of agricultural and food products; not use banned substances in the production and trading of agricultural and food products, ensuring consumer safety and contributing to environmental protection.

In the period of 2022 - 2025, the Provincial Farmers' Association has built organic agricultural production models such as: Model of improving and intensively cultivating banana trees according to organic processes in Dia Linh commune (Ba Be) with an area of 6 hectares/20 participating households; model of intensively cultivating and improving seedless persimmon trees according to organic processes in Cao Thuong commune (Ba Be); 03 models of "Application of microbial products in raising colored chickens for sale in the direction of biosafety" in Nong Ha, Yen Han (Cho Moi) and Duc Van (Ngan Son) communes; model of "Application of science and technology and biological products in raising commercial pigs" in Con Minh commune (Na Ri); model of growing organic Nep Tai rice; growing fragrant squash...

Spread to create a movement

Implementing the Joint Program on propaganda and mobilization of production and trading of quality and safe agricultural products and food for community health and sustainable development, period 2022 - 2025 in Bac Kan province, the Provincial Farmers' Association has actively coordinated with departments and branches in many fields and achieved many positive results, creating a spread among farmer members. Coordinated to organize propaganda and dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on food safety (FS) in 4,487 sessions with the participation of 147,260 members and farmers; coordinated to organize 02 contests to learn about knowledge on production and trading of safe agricultural products and food in Na Ri and Bach Thong districts; organized 02 "Farmer Start-up" Forums in Ba Be district and Bac Kan city. The Association at all levels mobilized 60,295 member households in production and business to sign a commitment to produce and trade safe agricultural products and food.

Farmers' Association cooperates to build many organic farming and livestock models.

HND actively promoted and supported the introduction of 72 new products and upgraded the star rating of recognized products to participate in the Program to improve product quality, promote and promote OCOP product trade activities in and outside the province; guided and supported 47 products to register to participate in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products. Activities of promoting, introducing products, building brands, trademarks, and promoting trade to consume agricultural products for farmers have received attention from all levels of the Association. Actively promoted and organized consulting activities, supported farmer members to connect to the market, build brands of agricultural products, trace the origin and control food safety, and access e-commerce. Up to now, 10,217 farmer households have been supported to have accounts on e-commerce platforms; 3,070 officials and members have installed the Vietnam Farmer App.

Through many implementation solutions, the awareness and sense of law compliance of farmer members, production establishments, and cooperatives in the production and trading of agricultural and food products have been gradually raised, contributing to ensuring the quality and safety of consumer food. In the period of 2022 - 2025, 18 collectives and 17 households with outstanding achievements in the production and trading of safe agricultural and food products in the province were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee.

In the coming time, Farmers' Associations at all levels will continue to propagate and mobilize members and farmers to sign a commitment to produce safe agricultural products, implementing "3 no's": Do not use banned substances in livestock and cultivation; do not use banned substances in food preservation and processing; do not consume dirty food; build a culture of "Farmers say no to dirty food"; strengthen technical training, replicate organic agricultural production models, biosafety; fight against and condemn acts, cases of production, business, consumption of unsafe agricultural products and food... join hands to ensure food safety, for the health of the community./.
