Proactive farmers, solid security

In recent years, the Farmers' Association of Pho Yen City has carried out many practical activities to propagate and mobilize members and people to participate in building a cultural life and maintaining security and order at the grassroots level. Thereby contributing to political stability, promoting socio-economic development and building civilized urban areas and new rural areas.

The "Farmers' self-management of security and order" models were established in communes and wards to contribute to mobilizing cadres, members and people to raise awareness of voluntarily complying with the law.

From the fact that industrial zones and clusters in the area are increasingly developing, leading to potential risks of loss of security and order (ANTT), along with promoting propaganda work, the Farmers' Association of Pho Yen City has built and expanded self-management models and farmer clubs participating in preventing and combating crimes and social evils associated with the patriotic emulation movement.

Timely commendation and reward of individuals and groups with outstanding achievements to motivate and encourage the participation of members. Close coordination between the City Farmers' Association and the police force and local authorities is also a key factor, helping the movement of All People Protecting National Security to spread more and more and achieve high efficiency.

Mr. Ta Hong Ha, Chairman of the Farmers’ Association of Pho Yen City, informed: Among the above solutions, we have identified propaganda work as a key task. Therefore, the Association has focused on disseminating the law, raising awareness, preventing crimes related to drugs, “black credit”, domestic violence, property theft, etc. for members and farmers.

In the 2021-2025 period alone, the Association has coordinated to develop 30 news and propaganda articles on mass media; organized over 20 conferences, seminars, thematic activities, and law clubs, attracting over 1,500 participants; printed and distributed over 1,000 leaflets, hung over 150 banners, billboards, and posters to propagate crime prevention and control and social evils.

Along with propaganda, up to now, the Association has also built and replicated 48 models of "Farmers self-managing security and order", 117 models of "Farmers participating in environmental protection" operating effectively in communes and wards.

In addition, the Association also coordinates to mobilize members to participate in models chaired by the Police at all levels such as: "Fire prevention and fighting inter-family group", "Self-management group for security and order", "Peaceful Catholic hamlet model", "Security camera", "Reformation andeducation of pardoned and released prisoners"... Through these models, many conflicts and small disputes in the community have been promptly resolved.

A typical example is the Viet Cuong residential group, Dong Cao ward - where 97% of the population is Catholic, with the model of "peaceful religious residential group". Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Head of the residential group, said: The group currently has more than 100 households, with more than 450 people. Thanks to good propaganda and mobilization work, for many years now, there have been no social evils or violations of the law in the group, the people are always united, living a good life, competing in labor and production.

Farmers' Association members of Tien Phong ward (Pho Yen city) mobilized to clear traffic to serve the construction of the road connecting Gia Thu 1 and Dong Xuan residential groups.

In order to ensure security and order at the grassroots level, the work of detecting and providing information to the authorities has also been effectively carried out by the members. In the past 5 years, the farmer members have provided nearly 1,000 valuable sources of information, helping the authorities investigate and solve nearly 700 cases; discovered and handled 261 drug cases, nearly 200 gambling cases; persuaded 37 wanted subjects to surrender; reformed and educated 750 subjects...

In particular, farmers' associations at all levels also organize reviews and make lists of members whose relatives have violated the law in order to have support measures, assign reputable officials to accompany and encourage them to help them reintegrate into the community soon.

To improve efficiency, the work of maintaining security and order is also associated with emulation movements for socio -economic development, especially the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" and build new rural areas.

Through the movement, up to now, more than 1,500 farming households have escaped poverty, through support for trees, seeds, agricultural materials, labor days and product consumption. Many effective economic models have been replicated such as: growing fruit trees in Minh Duc, Phuc Thuan, Phuc Tan communes; VietGAP tea production areas in Thanh Cong, Phuc Thuan, Minh Duc communes... From there, the rural economy is increasingly promoted, people actively build a cultural and healthy life; every year, the locality has over 96.5% of member households achieving the title of Cultural Family.
