According to Master Nguyen Van Ga (Institute of Soil and Fertilizer), developing high-tech agriculture and applying science and technology is the key solution to solve challenges in production. “Technologies such as biology, greenhouses, drip irrigation, sensors, automation and the Internet of Things help agriculture save costs, increase productivity, reduce prices and improve the quality of agricultural products, while protecting the environment. Farmers are also more proactive in production, reducing dependence on weather and climate, meeting the increasing demands of the market,” Mr. Ga emphasized.
Ms. Lam Vu My Hanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said: “High-tech agriculture is an agriculture that reasonably applies advanced technologies to improve efficiency, create breakthroughs in productivity, product quality and sustainable development. This is an inevitable trend, and at the same time, the solution to the problem of restructuring the province's agriculture.”
Many experts and other managers also share the same opinion that science and technology is one of the important solutions, creating breakthrough changes in agricultural production development, serving the restructuring of agriculture, and improving people's lives.
The application of high-tech agriculture creates productivity, quality and production efficiency. However, to optimize management, connect supply and demand and access the market, digital transformation is an indispensable next step.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Giang, Deputy Head of the Department of Science Management (Department of Science and Technology), digital transformation helps improve the operational efficiency and competitiveness of enterprises; helps strengthen the connection between producers and consumers, limit the situation of good harvest but low price, good price but bad harvest, thereby creating an effective and sustainable agriculture. Ms. Giang affirmed: "The application of information technology and digitalization in management and operation helps make quick and accurate decisions thanks to the timely and transparent reporting system. For businesses and farmers, digital transformation helps cut operating costs, expand markets and improve production efficiency."
"The important thing is to make the technology easy to understand and easy to use for farmers. This transformation is a long journey of trust and companionship, not a lightning revolution" - Dr. (Maize Research Institute). |
At the Forum on Solutions to Increase Competitiveness and Promote Export of Advantageous Fruit Products, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, former Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) emphasized: "Science and technology are not an option but a must for sustainable agricultural development."
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Trong Luc, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Center for Information - Science and Technology Application, said that activities and forums connecting technology supply and demand play an extremely important role. “Investing in green technology, finding creative solutions, promoting digital transformation and building a smart, energy-saving working environment are essential to develop OCOP agricultural products and high-quality products,” said Mr. Luc.
In response to the market demand for clean and organic food, the Dak Lak Center for Information - Application of Science and Technology is coordinating with all levels of the industry to promote the application and transfer of production models suitable for practical development. Currently, the unit is actively promoting awareness and mobilizing producers to gradually use organic microbial fertilizers and biological drugs, applying organic technical processes, and applying biotechnology to production to create clean products that meet quality standards and ensure the health of the community.
“The center also enhances the application and transfer of scientific and technological advances from production to circulation and distribution of products to the market to increase value and bring high economic efficiency. This creates a driving force to promote the development of clean agricultural products, organic agricultural products, as well as protect public health, protect the environment and open up a sustainable development direction for high-quality agriculture in the province,” Mr. Luc added.
