During the meeting with the film crew of "Bong in the 4.0 era" in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of July 24, Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh said that at first when he heard director Nguyen Quang Minh invite him to play the role of Mr. Bay Bong, he misunderstood. He thought it was the role of Mr. Bay Bong, a third-world person, but when he read the script, he realized it was Mr. Bay, a goby fish seller who raised three children.

"I have had a lot of experience playing the role of a father on screen. However, this time, I am challenged to be the father of three children, not just one like before. Three children with three different personalities, lives and their own troubles. Among them, the eldest son has already started a family and the other son is also looking for love. However, Mr. Bay Bong's family is single and not wealthy, while his in-laws are wealthy. From there, conflicts arise. I think the film has a fast, engaging pace, hopefully bringing something new to the audience" - Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh shared.
Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh's three children are played by actors Hoang Nguyen, Dam Phuong Linh, and Anh Tu. All three said that Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh is very similar to his real-life father, so they had no difficulty getting into character. They felt very genuine and were not embarrassed to call him father.
"When filming father-son scenes with Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh, I acted naturally and comfortably. With Hoang Nguyen and Anh Tu, I also consider them my brothers. We had no difficulty getting into character" - actress Dam Phuong Linh shared.
"Bong in the 4.0 era" tells the story of Mr. Bay Bong, who has a family tradition of braising goby fish. He only braises wild goby fish, not farmed goby fish. Passionate about his profession, he puts all his heart and soul into each pot of braised fish. He wants to pass on the profession to his children, but none of his three children want to stay in their hometown to braise fish. They all go to the city, following the urban vortex, far away from their father in the countryside.
The film explores the traditional profession of cooking pot-cooked fish, helping to spread the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine through the character's journey to conquer his dream. In addition to introducing culinary culture, the film conveys a message about father-son love, family affection and human values in life. The film is shown at 7:30 p.m. from Monday to Wednesday every week on HTV7, starting from July 25.
