Female deputy chief judge arrested for demanding 50 million VND in compensation

On October 3, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Suong, Deputy Chief Justice of Binh Minh Town People's Court ( Vinh Long ) was taken to the Detention Center of Military Region 9. Ms. Suong was arrested for accepting bribes at the headquarters that same morning.

According to initial information, while performing her duties in handling a civil case, Ms. Suong prolonged the time limit for handling the case, causing difficulties for the parties. Ms. Suong is said to have demanded that the plaintiff pay 50 million VND before bringing the case to trial.

On the morning of October 3, at her office, when Ms. Suong received 40 million VND from the client, she was caught red-handed by the Supreme People's Procuracy's Investigation Agency.

Ms. Suong, 52 years old, is from Phu Loc commune, Tam Binh district, Vinh Long province. She has a master's degree in law and is a primary judge of Binh Minh town People's Court.
