“The school allows students to take advantage of their free time during the week or summer break to register for more credits if they want to graduate early. I took this opportunity and completed all my knowledge right after finishing 11th grade,” Gia Han said.
With great efforts, this female student has been an excellent student for many consecutive years with a maximum GPA of 4.0. In addition, Gia Han also has outstanding achievements, such as: President of the APU American International School Student Council for the 2020-2021 term, valedictorian of the 2020-2021 graduation year, delegate to the 2019 Model United Nations Conference in Singapore... Not only that, Han also received scholarships from 9 American universities worth 366,000 USD (nearly 9 billion VND).
Gia Han (2nd from left) often organizes business career orientation events for international students in the US and Canada.

“When I went to the US to study in August 2021, I felt pressured at first because everything happened too quickly and I was not used to the new environment. But thanks to the encouragement from my family and teachers, I was able to maintain good academic performance and strive to achieve other achievements,” said the female student.
Although quite busy at school, Gia Han also teaches many subjects online, such as: English, Vietnamese, math, biology... to students in the US and Australia with 2 sessions/week to have a source of spending. Besides, she also practices business and tries some small business models at school.
“At first, I didn’t have much experience and was always afraid of failure and it would affect my studies. But in the long run, this helped me a lot in my future career orientation and confidently shared my business knowledge with everyone,” the female student said.
Be ready to commit
To have more opportunities to learn, Gia Han joined The Elite (a community that supports students in the US and Canada to integrate into business). Although she has just joined, this female student has become the leader of the operations team in Vancouver (Canada).
“Because international students in the US are only allowed to work part-time at school, I work in the community in the form of international business. During the holidays, I fly to Canada to organize many events and programs on how to build a personal brand and experience entrepreneurship for international students,” Han said.
This female student is very active in studying and working part-time.

As the founder of The Elite, Nguyen Thuy Linh (24 years old), currently working in the field of e-commerce in Canada, shared: “Gia Han is a very good student and has the perfect time management mindset for everything. Although studying at school is quite stressful, she still works part-time and does business at the same time. Han is also a quick learner and knows how to connect with many relationships, so I feel very secure when working with her.”
Currently, Han is a third-year student at the university, but since her first year, she has built an online sales channel and achieved revenue of 1,000 - 2,000 USD/month (from 24 - 48 million VND/month). After graduating, this girl expressed her desire to work at the electric car company Tesla (USA).
Sharing about how to arrange time, this international student said: “Most of my part-time work or business activities are online, so I usually spend about 2 hours/day on work. The remaining time is focused on studying.”
“When deciding to study abroad and take care of everything yourself, you need to learn clearly about the field of study, because life in a new country is completely different from Vietnam. Once you have a clear plan, be ready to commit to knowing your strength, otherwise it will be easy to get lost and make foolish decisions,” this female student expressed.
