Floodwaters pour in, people in the left dike area of the Red River in Hung Yen struggle to escape the flood

VOV.VN - Heavy floods on the evening of September 11 caused the area outside the Red River dike in Hung Yen and Gia Lam district, Hanoi to be submerged in water, with many places reaching roof levels.

Faced with the flood situation, on the evening of September 11, Hung Yen province issued a level 3 alert on the left dike of the Red River. Currently, the entire residential area outside the dike is submerged in water, with some places nearly 2 meters deep.

The force on duty to respond to rain and floods in Phung Cong commune, Van Giang district, came to rescue people's property.

According to the Military Command of Van Giang district, the flood did not cause any human casualties, but caused great damage to property.

Ms. Dinh Thi Lam, 54 years old, in Men Village, Phung Cong Commune, Hung Yen, cried when her family's pig farm of nearly 300 pigs was likely to be completely lost due to deep flooding.

Van Giang district mobilized more than 6,000 households in the area outside the beach to evacuate to a safe area. The evacuation took place on the night of September 11.

Water is one meter deep in Xuan Quan area.

Many people living in the area outside the Red River dike had to be temporarily evacuated.

Khoai Chau and Van Giang districts of Hung Yen are places where ornamental plants are grown. Floodwaters have caused many gardens worth tens of billions of dong to be at risk of total loss.

A villager had to make a homemade raft to move around in the water.

People in this area said that this was the biggest flood in decades. The water rose quickly at night, so even though they were prepared, they were still caught off guard and surprised.

In the Bat Trang pottery village area of Gia Lam district, Hanoi, water also poured in from the afternoon of September 11, the entire area was also cut off from electricity.
