At the national conference to disseminate and implement four resolutions organized by the Politburo and Secretariat this morning, Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung presented some main contents of Resolution No. 59 and the Government's action program.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung said that the idea of ​​international integration and integration with the world was mentioned by President Ho Chi Minh very early. He always attached importance to studying theories on relations with parties, political parties, and people's organizations to find a way to regain independence for the country.

International integration can be understood as the process of Vietnam participating in international cooperation and association in the economy and other fields, within the framework of bilateral relations as well as in multilateral institutions..." - Mr. Le Hoai Trung analyzed.

He pointed out that after 40 years of renovation and international integration, many achievements have been made. From a country still besieged and isolated, the process of international integration has contributed to the expansion of our country's foreign relations.

Vietnam currently has diplomatic relations with 194 countries and territories; and framework partnerships with 38 countries, including Comprehensive Partners, Strategic Partners, and Comprehensive Strategic Partners, including all permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. Vietnam is also a member of over 70 regional and international organizations. The Party has relations with 259 political parties and 119 countries.

International integration in national defense and security not only serves the goal of building and protecting the Fatherland but also actively contributes to peace and stability in the region and the world.

"One of the directions of Resolution No. 59 is to strive to make international integration in defense and security one of the pillars of international integration, especially in relations with important partners," the Acting Minister stated.

According to Mr. Le Hoai Trung, international integration has truly become an important driving force to enhance internal strength, effectively serving the country's development, including science and technology, education and training, and healthcare; making the Vietnamese economy strong and deeply integrated with the world.

The Acting Foreign Minister also pointed out shortcomings and limitations, including the fact that international integration has not been properly assessed and handled.

Don't be dependent on certain markets or sectors.

Regarding the guiding viewpoint of Resolution No. 59, Mr. Le Hoai Trung said that along with strengthening national defense and security, promoting foreign affairs and international integration is a regular and important task. International integration in politics, national security and defense needs to be deep, comprehensive and effective, thereby contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, promoting socio-economic development, protecting the Fatherland early and from afar, and enhancing potential and position.

At the same time, it is necessary to promote international cooperation, international integration in science, technology and innovation, contributing to improving national competitiveness, expanding the space for sustainable development and modernizing the country, including effectively implementing Resolution No. 57; promoting international integration in culture, society, tourism, environment, education, health and other fields, focusing on integration associated with preserving, promoting and disseminating national culture.
