Mr. Nguyen Van Quang took the oath of office as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.

On the morning of November 10, at the 10th Session, the National Assembly passed a Resolution to elect Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court for the 2025-2030 term, as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court for the 2021-2026 term.

The voting results to pass the Resolution to elect the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court showed that 440/441 delegates present approved, equal to 92.83% of the total number of National Assembly delegates.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang was elected Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court to replace Mr. Le Minh Tri, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, who was recently mobilized, assigned, and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Committee.

Performing the oath of office ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang said: "Under the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly and the people and voters of the whole country, I - Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear: Absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the people, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Strive to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people."

On behalf of the National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man acknowledged the oath of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang was born in 1969, his hometown is Hai Phong city. His political theory qualification is Senior; professional qualification is Doctor of Law. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

During his career, he has been associated with the Procuracy for a long time, holding the positions of Chief Prosecutor of Hai Phong City People's Procuracy; Chief Prosecutor of the Department of Prosecution of Civil Cases, Supreme People's Procuracy; Chief Prosecutor of the High-level People's Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City; Chief Prosecutor of the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Economic Cases (Department 3), Supreme People's Procuracy; Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy; Permanent Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee; Permanent Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate.

On November 4, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang was mobilized and assigned by the Politburo to participate in the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court, and appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court for the 2025-2030 term.
