Tightening the government and gender issues
Mr. Trump signed an executive order eliminating government diversity programs, including closing all federal offices related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Federal DEI office employees were required to take paid leave by 5 p.m. on January 22, when their offices were closed.
Mr. Trump rescinded the 1965 Equal Employment Opportunity Act and policies allowing transgender people to serve in the military. He signed an order recognizing “male and female” on official documents and directed agencies to stop using gender identities or pronouns other than male and female.
Energy and environmental policy

He has launched oil and gas development in Alaska, reversed efforts to protect Arctic land, suspended the sale of offshore wind leases and lifted a ban on licensing liquefied natural gas exports.
Mr Trump also ordered the US withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, which was controversial during his first term and was later reversed by President Joe Biden.
Withdrawal from the World Health Organization
Mr. Trump ordered his administration to begin withdrawing from the World Health Organization (WHO), criticizing the agency for mishandling the COVID-19 pandemic and other international health crises.
Amnesty and legal issues
Mr. Trump pardoned about 1,500 supporters involved in the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, including leaders of far-right groups such as the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys.
TikTok and DOGE Decree
Mr. Trump signed an executive order delaying the TikTok ban for 75 days, which temporarily shut down the app on January 19. At the same time, he created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an advisory group to drastically reduce the US government, leading to lawsuits challenging the department's legitimacy.
