Last night, Pogba officially debuted for Monaco Club with a 2-year contract, with the option to extend the contract for another year. This is the first time the French midfielder has returned after an 18-month absence due to a suspension for doping.

The midfielder, born in 1993, was initially suspended for four years after testing positive for the banned substance DHEA. In October, the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced the French midfielder's suspension to 18 months after an appeal.
During the new club's launch ceremony, Pogba cried as he ended the dark period and began a new journey in his career.
The 32-year-old star said emotionally: “I still feel like a kid. I have waited for this moment for so long. Now, I am physically and mentally ready to start again. I can't wait to start the next chapter of my career.”

Pogba also recalled the difficult time before Juventus terminated his contract due to the ban: “I asked to hire a personal fitness coach. I had the right to express my wishes because I was still part of the team. But Juventus did not support me. I was really shocked. It felt like I was being used as a scapegoat in the fight with the anti-doping agencies.”
Pogba's chance to play in the 2026 World Cup is still alive. If he plays well for Monaco, he could be called back to the French national team. Pogba was the key player in Les Bleus' 2018 World Cup win.
Pogba last appeared on the pitch in September 2023 for Juventus. Meanwhile, the last time this midfielder played a full 90 minutes was more than 3 years ago when he played for Man Utd.
