Mr. Doan Van Nhuom, General Director of Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL), said that due to its wide-ranging operations across the country, PVOIL's petroleum stations and depots could not avoid being directly affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi), as well as the post-storm circulation in the provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh , Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Hanoi, etc. Of which, 111 petroleum stations and 6 petroleum depots of PVOIL were affected by this storm and flood. However, thanks to careful preparation before the storm, applying the "3 on-site" plan, "fighting storms like fighting epidemics", PVOIL's system did not suffer much damage. Some stores had their roofs blown off, signs and banners damaged, and the fences of some warehouses collapsed, but the rest of the main items of the warehouses, factories, and stores were almost undamaged. PVOIL quickly repaired the damage and resumed operations very quickly after the storm, ensuring the supply of gasoline to the people.
PVOIL provides petroleum services on Cat Ba Island ( Hai Phong )
“On Cat Ba Island (Hai Phong), there are 3 petrol stations, including 1 of PVOIL. After the storm, PVOIL’s petrol station resumed operations the earliest to ensure the supply of petrol for the islanders. Although some PVOIL petrol stations are flooded, they are still trying to sell, especially in remote areas, to meet the needs of the people,” said Mr. Doan Van Nhuom.
Regarding supply, according to Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong, General Director of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company ( BSR ), currently the products of oil refineries are abundant, the supply is guaranteed. BSR is maintaining an inventory of 60-63% of total products, within a safe level, with enough supply for the market. The recent queueing of people in some areas to buy gasoline and oil is mainly due to the disruption of the supply chain in transportation and distribution due to the impact of storms and floods.
BSR supports gasoline for Yen Bai province
In addition, implementing the direction and responding to the call of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union, BSR has been coordinating with PVOIL to deploy fuel support for storm and flood areas. In particular, on the evening of September 12, BSR organized the transportation of more than 20,000 liters of DO oil (worth more than 343 million VND) to the fuel depot in Van Phu commune, Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province, in order to promptly provide fuel for the forces participating in the relief and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods in Yen Bai province.
