Previously, in March 2024, PetroVietnam and CIP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the field of renewable energy, especially offshore wind power. In Finland, the PetroVietnam delegation participated in the Deputy Prime Minister's working session with a number of leading Finnish enterprises in electricity, renewable energy, and environment.
At the meeting, leaders of the companies: Oilon (reducing carbon emissions and supporting the transition to renewable energy), Merus Power (stabilizing the power grid and optimizing the integration of renewable energy), Operon (wastewater treatment), Hermia Business (providing market research services), Wärtsilä (electricity, marine transport, providing marine equipment, smart technology)... informed the Deputy Prime Minister and the delegation about their operations in Vietnam; as well as expressed their desire to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in Vietnam.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Finnish businesses research and expand investment cooperation in the fields of renewable energy (green hydrogen, wind power, solar power), clean industry, water treatment, waste treatment, circular economy, etc.
