The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just issued a plan to implement the Project on developing the multi-purpose value of forest ecosystems until 2030, with a vision to 2050, in the province.

The plan aims to sustainably develop the supply of timber raw materials by organizing intensive cultivation and expanding the area of ​​large-timber forest plantations to ensure a proactive supply of raw materials, contributing to increased productivity, value of planted forests, and added value of the wood processing industry.

The goal is to achieve an average annual timber production of 1,000,000 ^m³ by 2025 and 1,200,000 ^m³ by 2026-2030; ensuring that timber and wood products utilize legally sourced raw materials, meeting the requirements of the domestic market and aiming for export.

Develop effective and sustainable integrated agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production models based on exploiting the potential and advantages of each locality in the province, combined with effectively utilizing indigenous knowledge to increase added value from forests and create more products and services.

Develop forest environmental services based on State regulations and local conditions; manage and utilize revenue from forest environmental services effectively, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

Effectively implement forest carbon sequestration and storage services and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by limiting deforestation and forest degradation, managing forests sustainably, and promoting green growth in the area as prescribed; strive to achieve an increase in revenue from forest environmental services at the national average of approximately 5% per year.

In addition, develop sustainable community tourism , ecotourism, resort tourism, and recreational activities, focusing on areas with forests, resources, and tourism potential. Manage, develop, exploit, and sustainably utilize non-timber forest products and medicinal plants under the forest canopy.

Develop and implement the development of non-timber forest products and medicinal plants, aiming for integrated development along the value chain, from production, procurement, processing to consumption, in order to enhance the value of non-timber forest products and medicinal plants.
