The campaign, which encourages KOLs to create content and post videos about common online scams and prevention skills, runs from October 22nd to November 22nd.
To raise awareness and equip diverse user groups with knowledge about preventing online fraud, the Information Security Department ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) and TikTok Vietnam recently launched an award ceremony for KOLs (social media influencers) with viral videos and content guiding skills in preventing online fraud.

The campaign, running from October 22nd to November 22nd, calls on users to participate in creating and producing content to raise awareness and spread the message of combating online fraud; it encourages users to upload videos with the hashtags #onlinefraud #NationalCommunicationsCode #Vaccineso based on two main themes: scenarios of common online fraud methods and skills for preventing online fraud.
Each video supporting the campaign must tag the official TikTok account of the National Cyberspace Portal (@congkgmqg).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Hung, Deputy Director of the Information Security Department (Ministry of Information and Communications), said that the development of digital technology brings with it the risk of online fraud.
Online fraud is a real and present threat, not only in Vietnam but worldwide. Online fraudsters are becoming increasingly sophisticated, changing their methods and thoroughly exploiting new technologies.
According to Mr. Hung, this year's theme emphasizes "skills," with the Cybersecurity Department focusing on equipping individuals with the ability to protect themselves and their families from fraudulent schemes.
Mr. Tran Quang Hung emphasized that the responsibility for ensuring information security and combating online fraud rests not only with state agencies but also requires the joint efforts and cooperation of businesses, platforms, and each individual citizen.
According to Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh, a representative of TikTok Vietnam, the platform has over 3 million sellers and 30 million buyers in Vietnam, not including those viewing content; these are customers who are easily manipulated and scammed.
In addition to technological advancements and providing optimal technological solutions to protect users, TikTok is committed to strengthening cooperation with government agencies to carry out meaningful community campaigns and raise awareness about online fraud.
“We call for the collaboration of professional content creators and social media influencers to build content that identifies and prevents online fraud. The information disseminated in the skills handbook developed by the Cybersecurity Department will be simplified by content creators, creating a wider reach,” said Mr. Lam Thanh.
