Integrated livestock farm model in Loc Son commune.
Accordingly, over the past 4 years, the commune has converted 19.63 hectares of ineffective land into crops and livestock, bringing high economic value. Building a 200-hectare field for concentrated high-quality rice production; 105 hectares of tray-seeding and machine-planting models. Focusing on training to apply scientific advances in production. Converting the area of land for 2 rice crops to growing commercial crops associated with linking with businesses to consume products for the people. The agricultural service cooperative, as a "midwife" of farmers, has regularly coordinated with relevant units to organize training to transfer science and technology to people. Many models of linkage with production businesses associated with the consumption of key agricultural products have been formed. In 2024, the total income from cultivation of the commune reached more than 73.2 billion VND.
A typical example is the model of "linking the purchase of high-quality purebred rice varieties J02" with a scale of 5 hectares implemented in Dai Thong village. People can rest assured because after the rice is harvested, the enterprise has registered to purchase it. The implementation of the demonstration model of high-quality purebred rice varieties J02 in the commune aims to bring scientific and technical advances into production, select rice varieties suitable for local soil, with high productivity and quality, as a basis for the People's Committee of Hau Loc district to select varieties in the annual production structure to gradually replace varieties showing signs of degeneration.
Currently, Loc Son has 1 farm, 22 farms and concentrated livestock and poultry farms, with an annual income from livestock reaching over 72 billion VND. In particular, a number of separate crop and livestock models have been formed and expanded on a relatively large scale. Many production models have been promoted by the people in the commune, bringing high economic efficiency, typically the VAC integrated farm model of Mr. Do Tat Ky's family, the livestock farm model of more than 100 sows and wild boars of Mr. Do Manh Hung's family...
Implementing the Project on agricultural development to 2025, with a vision to 2030, Hau Loc district has restructured the agricultural, forestry and fishery sectors and implemented food hygiene and safety management, identified key areas, key products, advantages and development potential to increase added value and sustainable development.

Currently, the whole district has cultivated 13,864 hectares, with food output of 59,298 tons/year, reaching 100.5% of the plan. The production value of the crop sector reached 1,200.31 billion VND (current price), an increase of 156.31 billion VND over the same period. A number of large-scale concentrated crop production areas have been formed and developed; there are 12 communes with an area of 70 hectares of rice certified by VietGAP. The specialized concentrated vegetable, root and fruit production area has an area of 1,441.6 hectares/year, including chili for export, sweet corn, soybeans, spinach, cucumbers, potatoes, etc. Of which, there are 2,000 m2 of hydroponic vegetable net houses; 6.5 hectares of greenhouses and net houses for growing Kim Hoang Hau melons and melons; 36 hectares of concentrated safe vegetable production are certified by VietGAP. The average income value reaches over 180 million VND/ha/harvest. Particularly, the model of greenhouses for growing safe vegetables and hydroponic vegetables according to VietGAP standards in Phu Loc and Hoa Loc communes has an income value of over 2.4 billion VND/ha/year, with a profit of over 700 million VND/ha/year; the model of melons and queen melons has an income value of over 700 million VND/ha/year, with a profit of over 300 million VND/ha/year.
The rural economic structure continues to shift towards increasing the proportion of industry and services, improving the quality and efficiency of production, especially the district's key products. Agricultural production continues to develop steadily, the restructuring of the agricultural sector is on the right track, and some crops and livestock have been converted with high efficiency.
The whole district has developed 193 specialized livestock farms, of which 117 livestock farms meet the criteria according to Circular No. 02/2020/TT-BTC.
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment). In general, the farm models after conversion are about 10 times more economically efficient than rice cultivation.
With the view of creating high-quality products with high commodity value, in recent years, livestock farms in the district have shifted to concentrated commodity production on a medium to large scale, creating value chains for high economic efficiency through the introduction of high-quality, economically efficient livestock (super meat) and poultry (super meat, super eggs) breeds to replace low-yield local breeds. This demonstrates that the agricultural structure has shifted strongly, increasing the output, value, and quality of livestock products due to the application of science and technology.
Hau Loc's fisheries industry is also interested in developing in terms of exploitation, aquaculture, and processing, continuing to affirm itself as the district's spearhead economic sector. In particular, developing the fisheries industry in the direction of gradually reducing coastal exploitation, improving offshore exploitation capacity, and increasing aquaculture output and value. The total output of exploitation and aquaculture in 2024 will reach 49,962 tons, reaching 103% of the annual plan and increasing by 2.9% over the same period.
Developing effective and sustainable production has contributed to promoting hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and improving the material and spiritual life of the people of Hau Loc coastal district.
