Answering the press on the sidelines of the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly, Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture andEducation, said that school violence has always occurred, but recently the nature and extent of the incidents have become more and more worrying.

School violence is not only physical, but also mental violence and insults to human dignity. Worryingly, students do not have a clear attitude and are not proactive in preventing violence.

There are many reasons for the increase in school violence, partly due to the impact of movies and social networks.

"Currently, students have easier access to information on social networks and the internet than before, and there is a lot of negative news that makes it easy for them to follow," he said, affirming that there needs to be a resolute attitude to eliminate violence, especially school violence.

To prevent this situation, Mr. Vinh said that it is necessary to build resistance for children. Specifically, in addition to orienting access to healthy information and limiting exposure to negative information, teachers and parents need to help children recognize good and bad things that should not be learned.

The Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Education also said that right at the National Assembly forum, many delegates spoke about this issue, but to transform policy into action requires perseverance. To change people's awareness and behavior, it needs to be done regularly, continuously, and long-term.

In particular, Mr. Vinh noted the need to promote the role of adults and families as role models. How adults act and think will directly affect and serve as a mirror to the thoughts, actions and thinking of children.

"Adults must act as role models, exercise restraint, and not expose children to negative behavior," Mr. Vinh noted.

He also cited that nowadays, if an adult intends to run a red light on the street, children will immediately remind them. That is because children are taught from a young age to obey traffic laws.

Regarding the concern that children's self-awareness gradually decreases as they grow older, the Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Education said that, in addition to the educational factor, it is necessary to strictly manage society, promote the spirit of the rule of law, and have both constructive and anti-contradictory measures to help people have better awareness.

The Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Education believes that when students are placed in a good educational environment, they will become exemplary people.
