The Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts is one of the museums that holds an important position in preserving the cultural and artistic heritage of the Vietnamese ethnic community.
Entering the museum, the two leaders were able to see the painting of a young woman in the garden , which is a screen made up of eight panels assembled into a large painting. One side shows the painting of a young woman in the garden , the other side shows a landscape painting (Tao mung).
Many lacquer and oil paintings at the museum were introduced to Mr. Josep Borrell Fontelles.
The work Em Thuy (left) is one of the typical works representing 20th-century Vietnamese portrait painting. The work was recognized as a National Treasure in 2013.
Minister Bui Thanh Son also introduced the content and special features of the works to the Vice President of the European Commission (EC).
Immediately after leaving the exhibition area, the two leaders moved to a cafe located on the premises of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and chose traditional Vietnamese drinks.
Here, the Vice President of the European Commission and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam chose two cups of Vietnamese coffee as their drinks, then Minister Bui Thanh Son ordered another cup of peach, orange and lemongrass tea to invite Mr. Josep Borrell Fontelles to enjoy.
The conversation at a simple table in a happy, friendly atmosphere between the two leaders.
EC Vice President Borrell Fontelles continued to enjoy the cool taste of peach, orange and lemongrass tea. He felt quite pleased with this drink and immediately signaled the staff at the shop to put this drink in a bag to carry home.
