During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated and thanked Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski and the high-level Polish delegation for coming to Vietnam to attend the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Convention, contributing to the success of the ceremony and the joint efforts of the United Nations and member states in building a new legal framework to regulate the field of combating cybercrime.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that Vietnam and Poland have a long-standing friendship and excellent cooperation. This year, the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1950-2025), an important milestone in their bilateral relations; affirming that Vietnam always values and wishes to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Poland, one of Vietnam's top priority partners in Central and Eastern Europe.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski highly appreciated Vietnam's organization of the signing ceremony for the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, thereby affirming Vietnam's strong commitment to participating in addressing global issues. Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski emphasized that Vietnam is an important partner of Poland in Southeast Asia and expressed his desire to further promote bilateral cooperation in all fields.
Regarding bilateral relations, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in the relationship between the two countries in recent times; he suggested that both sides continue to strengthen exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially at the high level, as well as between ministries, sectors, and localities of the two countries, in order to enhance political trust and mutual understanding, creating a foundation to promote and expand bilateral cooperation in all fields.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated Poland's position as Vietnam's largest trading partner in Central and Eastern Europe for many years; and suggested that both sides further strengthen trade and investment cooperation by actively implementing the bilateral economic cooperation consultation mechanism as well as the Working Group to promote agricultural cooperation.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son thanked the Polish House of Representatives for recently passing the Bill ratifying the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and affirmed that the EVIPA Agreement will contribute to strongly promoting trade and investment between the two countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on measures to strengthen cooperation in the fields of development cooperation, agriculture, education and training, culture and tourism, and people-to-people exchanges; and to continue to coordinate closely in multilateral forums as well as support each other's candidacies for international organizations of the United Nations.
Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski stated that Poland has strengths and has achieved many successes in the fields of digital transformation, cybersecurity, and the digital economy, and is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in exchanging information and sharing experiences, especially in building a legal framework, training human resources, and ensuring national cybersecurity.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his gratitude and requested that the Polish authorities at all levels continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Poland to live stably and integrate well into the local society, and to play a bridging role in cooperation between the two countries.
