On the afternoon of August 22nd, a delegation from the General Staff, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Member of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, inspected the combat readiness work for the commemoration of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, 2024, at the Nghe An Border Guard Command.

Attending the inspection were Major General Nguyen Duc Manh, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard, and representatives from specialized agencies of the Border Guard Command.

Representing the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command were Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc, Commander; and Colonel Le Nhu Cuong, Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard.

Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc, Commander of the Provincial Border Guard, briefly reported on the unit's performance of border guard duties during the first eight months of 2024 to the delegation. Highlights included: consistently monitoring the situation and proactively advising the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command, and the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee on policies and strategies for managing and protecting the territorial sovereignty and security of the province's borders and maritime areas; comprehensively and synchronously implementing border guard measures; maintaining strict combat readiness; and improving the effectiveness of drug prevention, control, and suppression, especially during the peak month of the crackdown on drug crimes.

Effectively implement border defense diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy; build strong border areas; consistently do a good job of propaganda and mobilization, especially propaganda on preventing and combating IUU fishing; actively participate in building and strengthening the grassroots political system; help people develop the economy and alleviate poverty in border areas; continue to maintain and promote effective models of assistance to the people; build strong, comprehensive, exemplary agencies and units...

During the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, the unit regularly practiced combat readiness plans; weapons, equipment, and vehicles were fully ensured. Officers and soldiers thoroughly understood the requirements of their assigned tasks and maintained a high level of combat readiness.

Concluding the inspection, Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, commended the achievements of the unit's officers and soldiers in the past period; and at the same time requested the unit to continue strictly implementing directives and orders on combat readiness, strengthening patrols and control to protect the border, sea areas, border gates, and seaports; proactively grasping the situation to avoid being caught off guard, especially in key areas, remote areas, and mountainous regions; continuing to review and supplement combat readiness plans; coordinating closely with functional forces in handling situations to ensure absolute safety in all aspects; and being ready for combat and handling situations during holidays and major events.
