Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) directly affecting the central region, on the morning of November 6, the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command increased officers and soldiers of the agency to reinforce coastal units and key areas, ready to support people in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

At the same time, coastal units of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard continued to synchronously deploy response measures and support people in storm prevention and control. From early morning of the same day, heavy rain began to appear in the coastal areas of the province. In that situation, coastal units of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard proactively increased their forces to stay close to the area, deploy response measures, support people to evacuate , reinforce houses, and ensure safety before the storm makes landfall.

Strengthening people's support forces

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13, on the morning of November 6, the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command mobilized 50 officers and soldiers of the agency to reinforce coastal units and key areas, ready to support people in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Accordingly, the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command assigned two Deputy Commanders and a Deputy Political Commissar to directly go to the area to direct the organization of mobile forces; at the same time, grasp the situation, lead the implementation of party and political work during the performance of tasks.

The reinforcement force is responsible for coordinating with local authorities and other forces to reinforce houses, relocate assets, help people evacuate from vulnerable areas, and mobilize fishermen and workers still on boats and aquaculture cages to safe shelters. Along with that, the working groups are ready to participate in rescue, first aid , and transfer of injured people; organize medical examinations and health care for people; support environmental remediation, cleaning up, and limiting the outbreak of epidemics after natural disasters.

Directly directing the force to increase support for people to respond to the storm, Colonel Ro Lan Ngan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command, said: "Promoting the spirit of initiative, responsibility, and helping people with the motto "wherever people are in difficulty, there are Border Guards". This reinforcement of forces affirms the determination of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard in responding to storms, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property, and maintaining stability in the border area in all situations".

Stand with people against storms

Since early morning of November 6, heavy rains have begun to appear in the coastal areas of the province. In this situation, the coastal units of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard have proactively increased their forces to stay close to the area, deploy response measures, support people in evacuating, and reinforce houses to ensure safety before the storm makes landfall.

In Xuan Dai ward, Xuan Dai Border Guard Station sent officers and soldiers to residential groups and neighborhoods to help people reinforce their houses, move furniture and assets to safe places, and mobilize people to gather at storm shelters.

At the same time, the Border Guard Station of Vung Ro Port mobilized 2 working groups (each group of 4 comrades) and 2 canoes to coordinate with the authorities, police and military forces of Hoa Xuan commune to propagate and remind vehicle owners and cage owners to urgently complete the work of securing, reinforcing and moving people and vehicles to shore before 11:00 a.m. the same day. For cases of non-compliance, the unit coordinated with local authorities and functional forces to resolutely organize enforcement to ensure the safety of people's lives.

In the area of ​​Tuy An Dong and O Loan communes, An Hai Border Guard Station deployed many working groups to stay close to the area, propagandize to the people about the direction of the storm, and mobilize people to move people, vehicles and property to safe shelters. Currently, the working groups are coordinating with the authorities of 3 communes in the area to continue to mobilize households at high risk to evacuate to safe areas.

Previously, the unit directly helped people pull 66 fishing boats ashore, supported 5 households in securing their houses, fired storm warning flares, and maintained 2 canoes and mobile forces ready to respond in case of emergency.

Along with that, other units such as Xuan Hoa Border Guard Station, Hoa Hiep Nam Border Guard Station, Tuy Hoa Border Guard Station and Border Guard Squadron 2 maintained 100% of their personnel on duty, organized on-duty patrols, closely monitored weather developments, counted boats and coordinated with local authorities to propagate and guide fishermen to safe anchorages.

With a spirit of urgency, initiative and high responsibility, officers and soldiers of coastal units under the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard are working day and night with the government and people to respond to storm No. 13, contributing to minimizing damage and ensuring absolute safety for people in the area.

Ensure smooth communication in all situations

On November 6, Dak Lak province continued to deploy working groups to survey and grasp the situation in key areas to proactively deploy plans to ensure prevention and control of storm No. 13 when it makes landfall.

With a proactive and determined spirit to protect the safety of people's lives and property, Dak Lak province is conducting a review of vulnerable areas and coastal areas; proactively planning to evacuate people in low-lying areas with high risk of landslides; preparing canoes and equipment, rescue and relief supplies to be ready to handle emergencies. Up to this point, Dak Lak province has deployed forces on site, on duty 24/24 hours when the storm makes landfall.

According to the authorities, all fishing boats in the province have left the danger zone and found safe anchorages. Localities along rivers, lakes and low-lying areas have also completed the bracing of houses, traffic works, and drainage systems have been reinforced and promptly handled.

Faced with the emergency, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee established a forward command post to respond to storm No. 13 in Tuy Hoa ward, with Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan as Commander.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the proactive spirit of localities in implementing storm prevention and control plans, and acknowledged the close coordination between armed forces in preparation work.

He emphasized that localities have seriously implemented the province's direction, promptly reviewed and inspected high-risk areas, prepared plans to prevent urban flooding, protect agricultural production, houses, constructions and traffic. With the motto of "proactively early, from afar", resolutely respond, not to be passively surprised.
