According to data from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the period 2021-2025, Phu Tho ranked first in the country in terms of tea trees with a total area of ​​about 14,500 hectares and an output of 183,000 tons. The average processed tea output is about 45-50,000 tons/year, accounting for about 25% of the total fresh tea output.

The concentrated tea production area, implementing value chain linkages, covers an area of ​​5.8 thousand hectares. Currently, the whole province has 60 tea processing facilities, with a processing output of about 60,000 tons/year, meeting domestic and export market demand. The structure of processed tea products has shifted towards increasing the proportion of green tea and other teas (oolong, scented, Matcha...).

The management, branding and trademarking of tea are increasingly being paid attention to. Phu Tho currently has 39 tea products achieving OCOP from 3 stars or higher, including 17 4-star products, 2 5-star OCOP products; many tea regions have been associated with agricultural and community tourism such as: Pa Co, Vo Mieu, Long Coc, Xuan Dai... contributing to enhancing the prestige, economic value and competitiveness of the province's tea products.
