Quan Ba ​​urgently repairs degraded road after nearly a year of use

The project to renovate and repair the concrete road from National Highway 4C to Lung Muoi village, Quyet Tien commune has an investment capital of more than 6.5 billion VND. The road is nearly 2.4km long with a roadbed width of 5m and a concrete road surface width of 3.5m. The project started in 2023 and will be completed and put into use in the second quarter of 2024.

The investment in this concrete road demonstrates the State's concern for the people in the highlands; meets the people's expectations, as well as opens up development opportunities for two highland villages, home to the ethnic minorities of Lung Muoi and Ngai Thau Sang.

However, after only nearly a year of use, many points on the route have shown signs of deterioration and damage.

Immediately after receiving feedback on the state of many degraded roads, on May 6, Mr. Hang Duong Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quan Ba ​​district, issued a document directing the District Construction Investment Project Management Board and related sectors to conduct a review, on-site inspection and request the construction unit to urgently repair and fix the problem to ensure the project meets the design quality.

The Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Quan Ba ​​District coordinated with relevant departments to inspect and review the entire concrete road from National Highway 4C to Lung Muoi village. Through actual inspection, it was determined that a number of points along the route had peeling and flaking of the road surface. Specifically, there were 14 points with a total length of nearly 200m with peeling and flaking of the road surface.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, Head of the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Quan Ba ​​district, said: At the time of pouring concrete on the road surface in 2024, there was continuous heavy rain in the area, which affected the concrete road surface. Most of the peeling and flaking spots were in sections with complex terrain and steep slopes.

Besides, because this is the only road leading to 2 villages, the traffic volume is very large, the concrete road has not been poured long enough but still has to allow vehicles to pass through, affecting the quality of the project.

"Because the project is still under warranty, the investor has requested the construction unit to urgently fix and repair the project to ensure the quality of the project according to the design," Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa emphasized.

At the scene, the construction unit is urgently mobilizing human resources and machinery to repair and repair the peeling and peeling road surface under the close supervision of technical staff of the District Construction Investment Project Management Board and the supervisory unit.

The peeling and flaking spots are chiseled off the entire concrete surface to re-pour a new concrete surface.

At degraded points, the construction unit used machinery to chisel away the entire concrete road surface to pour new concrete. Up to now, 7 points with a length of nearly 100m have been repaired and repaired, striving to complete the repair and repair in May.

In addition to the above project, according to Mr. Hang Duong Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quan Ba ​​district, the district also directed the Construction Investment Project Management Board and communes and towns to proactively inspect and review projects that have been and are being invested in, urgently complete documents in accordance with regulations; the construction process must ensure aesthetics, techniques, and quality in accordance with the design; promptly fix items and contents that do not comply with regulations.
