The journey of perseverance to preserve nature
Gently placing the young tree in the lake, the female forest ranger Ha Thi Quynh carefully added soil around the base of the tree and pressed it down. Her face was covered with sweat, but a smile still appeared on her lips.
Working for the fourth year at the Hang Kia-Pa Co Nature Reserve Management Board, Ms. Quynh and the Board's staff regularly participate in tree planting and afforestation programs coordinated by volunteer organizations. During that time, she cannot remember how many trees she planted in the forests, but according to Ms. Quynh, planting each tree makes her feel happy and conveys many feelings.
“Our mission is to coordinate with units and guide people to plant trees. I don’t think it is simply the responsibility of a forest ranger but also the responsibility of a citizen to green the forests. I am very happy today to join PanNature in planting green shoots, continuing the journey of preserving nature,” said Ms. Ha Thi Quynh.

After 4 years working as a forest ranger, Ms. Ha Thi Quynh always feels happy and proud every time she works with the villagers to nurture green shoots for the future. |
Starting from 2022, the “Greening Forest” Program initiated by the Center for People and Nature (PanNature) aims to restore 500 hectares of natural forest in the transition zone between Mai Chau district ( Hoa Binh ) and Van Ho district (Son La) - an area with high biodiversity value, home to many rare species of flora and fauna and an important livelihood for Mong and Thai communities.
On May 16, PanNature and four technology companies including HP Vietnam, Synnex FPT , Digital World Joint Stock Company (Digiworld) and Elite Technology Joint Stock Company organized a tree planting activity within the framework of the "For a green earth" campaign.

Nearly 200 delegates participated in the tree planting festival within the framework of the "For a green earth" campaign. |
The event was attended by 183 delegates including representatives of businesses, organizations, local authorities and people who live, cultivate and have a long-term relationship with the forest here. The entire process of planting and caring for trees was technically guided by PanNature and rangers from Hang Kia – Pa Co Nature Reserve and supervised by the community, ensuring a high survival rate and long-term ecological efficiency.
According to Mr. Trinh Le Nguyen, Director of the Center for People and Nature, this is not just a simple tree planting activity, but a vivid demonstration of the increasingly clear role of businesses in joining hands to protect the environment and restore nature.
“In the context of rapidly occurring climate change and ecosystem degradation, the commitment and practical actions from the business sector not only contribute to realizing sustainable development goals, but also strongly inspire the community and other stakeholders,” said Mr. Nguyen.
Hang Kia-Pa Co Nature Reserve covers an area of 5,258 hectares, located at an altitude of 500-1,500m above sea level in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province. Established in 2000, it protects the limestone mountain forest ecosystem and preserves many rare and endemic species of gymnosperms and animals in the Northwest region. Hang Kia-Pa Co is an important special-use forest of the province, the reserve plays a role in preserving gene sources, conserving biodiversity and protecting watersheds. The complex terrain and cool climate all year round create favorable conditions for the development of native tree species with ecological and economic value such as doi, lat hoa, tram den and many endemic bamboo species.
Developing sustainable technology associated with nature conservation
The “For a Green Earth” campaign is an initiative initiated by HP Vietnam on the occasion of its 30th anniversary in Vietnam, with the goal of planting 30,000 trees to restore 50 hectares of natural forest in Hoa Binh province by 2025. The planting on May 16 is the first planting in the campaign.
Evaluating this campaign, Mr. Sung A Vang, Deputy Manager of Hang Kia-Pa Co Nature Reserve shared: “Planting 30,000 trees not only contributes to restoring degraded forests but also helps expand the ecological buffer zone, reducing pressure on the conservation core. This is a clear demonstration of the social responsibility and green vision of participating businesses. We appreciate the approach based on community participation and technical support from specialized organizations, ensuring effective conservation and sustainable livelihoods for local people."

According to Mr. Duc, HP Vietnam will continue to invest in sustainable technology by prioritizing the use of recycled materials, saving energy and innovating to protect the environment. The company also commits to continue accompanying the community and partners in Vietnam on the journey of sustainable development, on a large scale and responsibly.
In the context of increasingly serious climate change and ecosystem degradation, the proactive participation of the private sector, especially technology enterprises, is a positive signal showing a strong shift in development thinking. By planting a tree today, enterprises can contribute to laying the foundation for a future where the environment and technology develop together for humanity.
