DNO - On August 28th, the People's Committee of Hai Chau District and the Da Nang branch of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group ( Viettel Da Nang) jointly inaugurated free Wi-Fi hotspots, distributed smartphones to poor and near-poor households, and launched the "Smartphone and Internet - Easy and Safe" model.

Accordingly, Hai Chau district is deploying free Wi-Fi systems at cultural centers, community centers, parks, and gardens in all 13 wards.
The goal is to coordinate with telecommunications companies and businesses to install Wi-Fi systems at 96 locations by the end of 2024, with an estimated operating cost of approximately 288 million VND per year.
Within the framework of the program, the People's Committee of Hoa Cuong Nam Ward introduced and launched a free digital transformation class model for the elderly called "Smartphone and Internet - Easy and Safe" to help people easily access information, download and use digital platforms, search and submit administrative procedures online, participate in online courses, update news, etc.
On the same day, Viettel Da Nang donated 6 smartphones, along with a free 4G data plan for 90 days, to disadvantaged families in Hoa Cuong Nam ward.
Reportedly, from July 21st to August 28th, Viettel Da Nang provided 30 smartphones to 25 disadvantaged families in Hai Chau district.
