On the evening of June 22, the Talent Rendezvous stage exploded with Liveshow 3 - the competition night that was considered the most dramatic and challenging since the beginning of the season. 6 excellent contestants entered the direct confrontation round, performing a solo song and a duet song but with different arrangements. There was no room for safety or reserve, each performance was a game of courage, technique and emotion.
Opening the competition night, Thanh Thuy made the audience sob with the original version of Time Stream. Without any special effects or backing vocals, he conquered the audience with his confidence and steady control of emotions.
Thanh Thuy's performance made both the judges and the audience feel like he was just playing with the notes, not just a potential contestant but a true performing artist.
"An emotional performance. Singing like that and still being able to control the climax is very difficult," judge Huy Tuan commented.
Judge Ho Ngoc Ha exclaimed: "If you sing for a few more minutes, I still want to listen. You convey your emotions so cutely and honestly."
Thanh Thuy sings "Time Stream"
Choosing the song "Never Left" , Minh Khoi showed good technique but lacked breakthrough. Although the singing was well-rounded, it lacked emotional climax - a necessary element in the key round.
Ho Ngoc Ha commented that Minh Khoi's performance was stagnant. Truc Nhan said that Minh Khoi's safety prevented him from taking advantage of the opportunity to break through at the crucial moment: "You have a good voice but are regressing, lacking confidence and have not made an impression."
In previous nights, Quang Anh was said to have too many tricks on stage, so this time he decided to focus only on singing, but he did not really convince the judges. Musician Huy Tuan was not satisfied with this change because he saw an image of Quang Anh lacking confidence because "he did not show a Quang Anh as sharp as in previous rounds".
Meanwhile, Ho Ngoc Ha commented that Quang Anh had lost his usual smile and brightness. "Let's consider this a valuable lesson in choosing songs and changing style," she said.
Choosing Love Only You - a difficult song once associated with singer Thu Minh, Bao Ngoc surprised everyone with her emotional and confident performance. Without copying or following a stereotype, she conquered the audience with her unique voice.
"You don't imitate but still convince. A long and proud step forward," judge Truc Nhan emotionally shared.
Ho Ngoc Ha said Bao Ngoc made everyone forget the previous performance, only remembering this performance.
Mai Chi was highly appreciated for her technique but her performance was too safe, not leaving any impression when performing Nhu mua tuyet mainh . In a competition, when there are not many opportunities left, safety sometimes becomes a disadvantage.
"Although the performance was solid in terms of vocals, it was not enough to make an impression in the important round," musician Huy Tuan expressed.
Returning to the familiar musical space, Hoai Anh brought a vibrant and personality-filled performance - Whisky. Although not too perfect, she still won the hearts of everyone thanks to her unique style.
"From fashion to song selection, you are different and smart" - Ho Ngoc Ha praised. Meanwhile, musician Huy Tuan commented that Hoai Anh has a rare and potential voice, believing she will go far.
Entering the competition round, 3 duets with 3 musical colors surprised the judges. Minh Khoi - Hoai Anh performed "Co khong lu ma dung tim" together, creating a lively and surprisingly harmonious duet.
"This is my favorite cover. You two complement each other perfectly," judge Truc Nhan commented on his hit.
Meanwhile, musician Huy Tuan said he could not take his eyes off the performance. "It's hard to imagine the final night without you two," the musician affirmed.
Thanh Thuy - Quang Anh brought the emotional song "Noon Without" to the audience. Of course, when singing a duet with a contestant with such good vocal technique and stage performance like Thanh Thuy, Quang Anh was a bit "dizzy" right when drawing lots, but he surprised the judges.
Mai Chi - Bao Ngoc performed Lonely on the sofa - a hit song by judge Ho Ngoc Ha.
According to Ho Ngoc Ha, this song sounds easy but to sing it well and make the listener feel comfortable is very difficult: "You two did well from the singing to the image, the harmony. However, the ending was quite disappointing. I only regret that if you guys had exploded for another 30 seconds, creating a more spectacular ending, it would have been perfect."
Liveshow 3 was truly a challenging and emotional night, where the contestants not only competed in singing but also in their mettle, personality and musical thinking. Each performance was a story, with both excitement and regret.
In the end, Quang Anh and Mai Chi had to stop before the final round.
