The Jazz concert - IMMERSED and the exhibition Living Heritage - Heritage for the future recently took place in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing an artistic space - where music , performance and heritage elements are combined in a multi-sensory way.
The highlight of the program is the performance of international Jazz pianist Niels Lan Doky. The show is directed by Pham Hoang Nam, with musician Quoc Trung as Music Director, aiming for an audio-visual structure, a dialogue between international Jazz and contemporary Vietnamese materials.

The show kicked off with a contemporary dance performance by artist Chika Tatsumi (Japan) and Nguyen Duc Hieu - a Vietnamese artist who won the Gold Medal at the 2024 International Dance Festival. The movements were designed to be minimalist, creating a rhythm for the appearance of Niels Lan Doky later.
The "Jazz Knight" shared that he had been waiting for the opportunity to return to Vietnam for nearly three decades. Accompanying Niels Lan Doky were two artists Felix Pastorius (bass) and Jonas Johansen (drums). Both have many years of performing experience, contributing to shaping the rhythm and structure of the trio's performance.
In the opening, Niels Lan Doky, Felix Pastorius and Jonas Johansen performed a series of typical works such as Journey of a legend , Free at last , Just do it...
The performances are handled in the spirit of improvisation typical of Jazz but still maintain structure. At the end of each performance, Niels Lan Doky smiles, looks at his two partners as if in a sign, then turns to the audience.

Part two opened with the trumpet of saxophonist Quyen Thien Dac. Although it was their first time working together, the two artists quickly found common ground in rhythm and melody. Performances like Till the end of time or Houellebecq kept a moderate tempo, taking listeners through many emotional ranges.
The music night was made more colorful by the presence of the top singers in the Vietnamese music industry. Diva Ha Tran appeared in the performance Swim good , then continued to bring the hit Thu can . Ha Tran's powerful voice contributed to the emotional flow of the program.

The final part focuses on works that evoke Vietnamese cultural materials, with the participation of diva Thanh Lam and musician Ho Hoai Anh.
Among them, diva Thanh Lam attracted attention when she reunited with Niels Lan Doky after nearly 30 years since the album Asian Sessions (1999). The songs Thanh Lam performed in the concert were also part of her and Niels Lan Doky's previous music project.
The performances A Glimpse of West Lake , Laughing Sea , Love Riddle ... were performed in the spirit of a fusion between Jazz and traditional melodies, concluding a performance that focused on the elements of experience and cultural dialogue.
