Quang Binh: Nearly 10,500 candidates take 10th grade high school entrance exam in hot weather

On the morning of June 3, nearly 10,500 candidates in Quang Binh province entered the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year. This is the first year of 10th grade admission under the 2018 General Education Program and takes place in the context of implementing the arrangement and organization of the 2-level local government apparatus.

Candidates registering for non-specialized high schools and ethnic boarding high schools will be arranged to take the exam at the school where they registered their first choice. Candidates registering for Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School will take the exam at this school.

According to the leader of the Departmentof Education and Training of Quang Binh, to ensure the best conditions for the entrance exam, 30 examination councils across the province have fully prepared facilities and logistics such as medical, electricity, water and proactively developed and implemented plans to ensure security and safety for the exam as well as be ready to respond to other risky situations.

In particular, the exam took place during the hottest days in the Central region, so parents had prepared carefully to protect their children from the heat. The exam sites had enough drinking water and fan systems to cool down the hot air.

Previously, Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan and leaders of relevant units and localities inspected the actual examination sites. He requested the examination councils to continue to grasp and strictly implement the examination regulations, coordinate well, and follow the correct procedures in handling situations and incidents during the organization of the examination and the examination of candidates; create the most favorable conditions for the examination, ensuring maximum benefits for candidates.

This morning, candidates went to the exam room to complete the exam procedures; in the afternoon, they took the Literature exam. On June 4, candidates continued to take the Math and English exams; students taking the specialized high school entrance exam took an additional specialized subject.

The entrance exam for grade 10 high school is organized to meet the learning needs of students, gradually improving the quality of comprehensive education. The exam results are the basis for the Quang Binh Department of Education and Training to evaluate the quality of education in schools, thereby proposing practical solutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning in high schools, which is a condition for implementing student streaming after being recognized as graduating from junior high school.
