Quang Dien people take advantage of sunny days to go to the fields to harvest agricultural products.

In order to minimize damage caused by natural disasters, in recent days, the People's Committee of Quang Dien district has directed localities to urgently mobilize human and material resources to carry out flood control in the fields.

Accordingly, the entire district has drained more than 751 hectares of rice and vegetables, bringing the total area free of flooding to 1,563 hectares. Currently, more than 2,377 hectares of rice and vegetables are still flooded, with the possibility of having to re-sow 1,027 hectares of rice.

In addition to promoting flood drainage in rice fields, the authorities of Quang Tho, Quang An, Quang Vinh, Quang Phu, Quang Thai and Quang Loi communes are currently mobilizing people to take advantage of the sunny days to urgently go to the fields to harvest agricultural products.

Mr. Hoang Van Dung, Ha Cang village, Quang Phu commune said: "Some of my family's peanut fields are not ready for harvest yet, but due to flooding, these days the whole family has gone to the fields to harvest peanuts, trying to salvage whatever they can."

Pumps operate at full capacity to prevent flooding in Quang Dien

200 hectares of peanuts in Quang Phu commune are flooded, local authorities continue to mobilize and encourage people to go to the fields to harvest. For 70 hectares of young peanuts, the People's Committee of Quang Phu commune directed agricultural production cooperatives to reinforce the dike, increase drainage, and ensure that peanuts are not affected.

The unusual floods from June 11 to 13 caused great damage to agricultural and fishery production in Quang Dien district. The whole district had more than 3,734 hectares of rice, 647 hectares of vegetables, beans of all kinds and 654 hectares of aquaculture flooded.
