Quang Nam needs to proactively respond to all types of natural disasters.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments, agencies and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, based on their assigned functions and tasks, to regularly monitor weather developments to proactively and promptly deploy disaster prevention, control and rescue work in the area. Absolutely do not be negligent, subjective, lose vigilance and do not let interruptions occur in the direction of disaster response when implementing the rearrangement of administrative units and organization of local governments at 2 levels.

Heads of departments, branches and localities are responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for disaster prevention, control, rescue and relief work at agencies, units and localities under their management.

The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities shall proactively inspect and review areas at high risk of landslides, flash floods and flash floods in the upcoming rainy and stormy season to prepare evacuation plans and move people to safe places when bad situations occur to ensure the safety of people's lives and property. Absolutely do not let the policy of stopping district-level activities, rearranging administrative units and organizing local governments at two levels affect the work of natural disaster prevention and control in the area.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT-TKCN) to closely monitor weather developments to proactively and promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue to issue documents directing and guiding units and localities to focus on implementing natural disaster prevention and control work, responding to the risks of heavy rain, landslides, and flash floods occurring in the province.

According to the guidance of the Central ministries and branches and the actual situation of the province, urgently review and advise on the development of a plan to reorganize the force performing the tasks of natural disaster prevention, control, and rescue at the provincial and grassroots levels to ensure smooth, effective and efficient operations from July 1, 2025 (after the district level ends its operations).

Review and advise on the completion of response plans for each type of natural disaster that may occur in the area, especially plans to respond to heavy rain, landslides, flash floods, storms, and floods. Focus on immediately overcoming the risks identified through Typhoon Yagi in 2024; develop a preparedness scenario to respond and protect key areas, and avoid being passive or surprised when a situation occurs.
