Quang Nam proposes to invest 1,222 billion VND to standardize high schools in the period 2026 - 2030

(QNO) - In preparation for the 32nd session of the Provincial People's Council, this morning, May 27, the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee worked with the Department of Education and Training to listen to a report on the project to standardize facilities of high schools in Quang Nam province for the period 2026 - 2030. According to Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Viet Tuong, the education and training career in Quang Nam still faces many difficulties and shortcomings, especially the facilities in high schools are degraded, substandard, and do not meet the requirements of teaching and learning. Therefore, in the coming time, it is necessary to prioritize resources to invest in building facilities in the direction of standardization and modernization.

With that requirement, the project will be implemented in the period of 2026 - 2030 with a total investment capital of 1,222 billion VND from the provincial budget; of which public investment capital is 955 billion VND and career capital is 267 billion VND.

Ms. Tran Thi Bich Thu - Head of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Society Committee said that investing in, upgrading and standardizing high schools is extremely necessary and urgent. The goal of the project is to serve the medium-term public investment in the period of 2026 - 2030. The Culture and Society Committee will report to the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee for consideration and decision and hopes to present this project at the meeting in June.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cong Thanh affirmed the necessity of developing a project to advise the Provincial People's Council, especially in the reality thateducational facilities still have many difficulties. Regarding investment resources, it will continue to be discussed in the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, but it is also completely reasonable with the capital being divided into investment phases according to the annual roadmap as proposed in the project.
